I've run two characters through this step lately and neither one required stripping. If you have a weapon or shield in hand he will decline the challenge, that's it. I just put them in my rucksack and challenged again, it worked.

The same is also true for "cleansing the body of pollutions in the spring", you used to have to strip everything off and wear a white robe but that's not true any more either.

oh, nice to know, I haven't gone through Voln with a character since about 2000.

I don't remember ever having to strip for those particular steps, even before 2000. That must have been a long time ago.

I don't remember Kai's specifically. Entering voln you definately had to back in the 90s.
