I've been having trouble loading the PC all day, and just now I got an error message:

Error 2002: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (111)

Don't worry Latrin. We still have to finish our Ban Wezas campaign before we get to banning you.

And I've been having the error on and off today too.

The bond between you and Skirm must be broken.

And I will find a way to do so.

Oh yes, I will find a way.

It also threw this in when I hit the post button.

I think I posted the same post with differing structures, about 11 times in another thread. It failed everytime.

I got a weird error this morning too, It said something like :

"Server Shutting Down."

Everything from PC loaded at the top of the page (links, who I am, my profile, etc) but where there should have been posts, it said the above.

This problem is what got us kicked off of the old server.

Basically there are times when the database just gets so many queries (requests) at a single time that it drops some of them. The problem is in the poor structure of the existing forums.

New forums are being worked on currently, and I'm writing up a bunch of tools to convert all the content from the current forum to the new one. Hopefully this new software will manage the forums far more efficiently.

Thanks Kranar.

Let us know if we can help defray any costs that you might incur with the new forum software. As much time as I spend participating here, I would consider it within my entertainment budget.

Let's face it, folks. This is Blabbermouth City! However, from what I've seen, once the transition is made to the new format, the boards will be a lot more efficient. It's going to require a lot of work from Kranar to get this train on the right track, but once it's running I think we'll all find it a lot better. :)

You can also call on me for any help you need kranar. I'm not all that skilled with BBS programs and such, but I can learn fast. :)

I think PHPBB already has a XMB conversion script. I think that's what I saw last time I was there. HRMPH. DON'T KNOW.

Just read Kranar's response above, which explains why I've been having a ton of trouble lately with the website. I wrote a response in a thread, hit Post Reply, and it was lost to the Internet Black Hole.

Got this message:

Database connection error!!!
A connection to the Database could not be established.
Please check your username, password, database name and host.
Also make sure config.php is rightly configured!

When connecting, the database returned:
Error 1203: User gsplayer_Kranar has already more than 'max_user_connections' active connections

Now back to trying to remember what I wrote in the post, and rewrite it. :banghead:
