>
* Lothsahn joins the adventure.
>
You finish your work and stand up, turning the ora hammer-head in your hands. You nod, satisfied with the piece you've created.

>
PUT: CMAN SURGE

PUT: put my hammer in bin

You focus deep within yourself, searching for untapped sources of strength.
You feel incredibly stronger.
>
As you place a rough ora hammer-head into a wooden bin you feel pleased with yourself at having cleaned up the surrounding area.
>
* Adekio joins the adventure.
>
PUT: open my cloak

You unfasten the pale blue moonstone clasp at your throat, opening your wizard's cloak.
>
PUT: put my hammer in my cloak

I could not find what you were referring to.
>
PUT: close my cloak

You draw together the ends of your wizard's cloak and fasten the pale blue moonstone clasp at your throat.
>
PUT: open my poke

You open a torn mage's poke speckled with a myriad of brightly-colored potion stains.
>
PUT: put my hammer in my poke

>
PUT: close my poke

You close a torn mage's poke speckled with a myriad of brightly-colored potion stains.
>
PUT: glance

You glance down to see a leftover ora slab in your right hand and nothing in your left hand.
>
PUT: swap

You swap your ora slab from your right to your left hand.
>
PUT: glance

You glance down to see nothing in your right hand and a leftover ora slab in your left hand.
>
PUT: stare head

You carefully trace the forging-hammer pattern onto the surface of the ora in your hand.

Your material is marked with a pattern, next you'll need to shape it somehow.
Glancing around you see a grinder that may suit your needs.
Roundtime: 30 sec.

>"I think I may happen to be crafting..?
You softly ask, "I think I may happen to be crafting..?"
>
PUT: turn grinder

You give the grinding wheel a powerful shove to get it spinning, then move nimbly to take your seat at the wheel.

Roundtime: 105 sec.
>
You set your right foot against the already moving rocker pedal and begin pumping to set the wheel spinning more quickly.

Settling the ora slab comfortably in your left hand, you press it against the spinning stone. Bits of ora leap into the air as the rough stone eats away at it.

Howling winds create a feint whistling effect as they blast through gaps in the walls of the small workshop. Crowded with a grinder, polisher, and a workbench with a vise, this room is perhaps a third of the building's interior. Besides the exit, an iron bound door pierces the center of the hut's one interior wall. For whatever reason, the bases of the workbench, grinder, and polisher have each been inlaid with fragments of pearl. You also see a wooden bin and a rental hourglass.

SEND[Zyllah] Yes, AFK scripting to gain anything in the game is warnable.

:weird:

I was so busted. I've also nominated Zyllah as a super awesome-type GM person in response to Feeback on Melissa's "GM Kudos" post, too :(

I am also heinously pissed off as I didn't start scripting for pieces until I blew through 2.5m trying to get a magical hammer-head.

Bah...

- I meant to put this in nuisances and annoyances as it's not really a complaint about any one person specifically.

What exactly is the complaint?

Probably just her cavalier bitch attitude.

How badly crafting sucks combined with what I just posted up in that log, heh.

Heck no!

I've run into her a few times with my list making. You wouldn't believe all the stuff we break. Closed down a shop, got stuck twice, found stuff that's not nailed down, typos, hearing Landing thoughts in the EG festival area... And that's just me since last night!

You'd think with all the times we bug GMs, they'd get tired of us, but I've yet to have a GM get upset. Never happened. Was just talking to Zyllah tonight, in fact, about me finding stuff that wasn't nailed down, and she was cool. Most times, the GMs come in, see it's me or Vyrshkana, and it's fixed (or shop's closed if need be) in very short order. They know we don't report stuff that isn't necessary.

I haven't really seen any GM in any situation like yours Nilandia.
If I have a problem in game I just let it go and forget it, since they've never even tried to stick their neck out for anything I've asked them for.
To be honest I only upgraded to premium this summer, so I probably wasn't very high priority before then.

Not like I give a shit, See the shrug?

Moved.

Also, always nice to see the GMs on the lookout for AFK scripters. Maybe one day people will get the hint and just not do it!

Not bloody likely.

I can dream though right? I feel warm inside every time I hear about an AFK scripter being caught. ;)

Speaking of which, I don't think I've ever scripted while AFK.
Even with .Spellup I stay and watch to make sure I'm not whispered to or threatened for some crime ect ect.

They really need to spend more time in the low-level hunting grounds near Ta'Vaalor instead of going after someone that wasn't even trying to get ranks from scripting.

Edited to say: If they REALLY didn't want people scripting, they'd limit or take away the feature altogether.

I never script AFK. Forging system kind of warrents scripting though; someone needs to make a 4 step system where you master after all 4 parts, unscriptable of course. Until then, I have no desire for carpel tunnel, none whatsoever.

That said... I'm always at the computer, and I think Term's issue more is that he was at his comp. It's ridiculous to lecture someone for something that your policy requires because they didn't do it fast enough (edit: didn't do it fast enough while still being within rules).

Out of sheer morbid curiousity, how did you know how very few ranks of forging brawling weapons I have

Are you going for blades too; ie, are you going to make katars? I just really want to make my own stuff for OTF and will be converting to monk the first five or so seconds the profession is offered (mmmm shadow mastery).

Nope :)

My plan is to ambush TWC with a perfect knuckle duster ET'd up to six or sevenish times, in each of my hands, paired with premium flares on each knuckle duster (or, maybe, sais... depending on how much more I can find out about them [sai-glyphs.])

Correct. Typos get bugged, not reported. They still go through GMs, though.

Typos bug the hell outta me, more than some other things.

The one where monks would freeze me, and i'd ward- ice appears on your legs but you easily shakes it off. REALLY got on my nerves after a while hunting there. So I understand.

I'll be damned if they can really figure out who is scripting while doing crafting though. I don't use a single script, but I damn sure don't sit and watch crafting. I type in a little turn grinder, and then I switch windows and do a little web browsing or whatever. No damn way am I gotta watch that crap for 3 minutes. Once I'm done with that the screen has damn near scrolled all the way past, I'm not gonna scroll up to see if a GM talked to me.

I can understand them busting you if you're hunting or even doing guild skills, but with things with 100+ seconds of rt it's kinda ridiculous.

ElanthianSiren
10-26-2005, 03:59 AM
Again, my issue isn't that he was scripting, and I don't think it should be SIMU's either, since they've said you may script if you're not AFK. My issue is a GM got all bitchy with him BECAUSE he was following the rules. It was almost like she was disappointed he was at his comp and felt the need to lecture that he didn't answer fast enough.

You know, forging scrolls the screen. Even if you WERE staring at the screen unblinkingly, you could miss on the 180 RT portion until/if you scrolled back up.

It's cool they're checking for scripters, but when someone makes it clear they're following your policy, don't bark at them. That's annoying.

Be aware, they can see when you hit a button also, so they can tell if you are typing in characters occasionally. Personally, after any command (that has a 30+ RT) I tend to get distracted by something.

Thanks Finis. That may be why I've never been bothered. I'm always fiddling with the inventory command, checking who'se online, bugging friends in game, or whatever can make forging pass with LESS annoyance at being sequestered away from the game like that.

I couldn't agree more.

You missed one line of them asking you something in a stream of text. Boo Hoo.

Zyllah says, "You don't have to whisper, besides I wasn't visible and you didn't even look."

What the hell was that about?

You answered on the second question, which was likely only a few seconds after the first. I wouldn't have offered up the merchant list/ one-third the window size info. "I must have missed your first comment, I appologize". And then (in your head) tell him/her to eat a dick.

Heshinar

I understand some of the stuff you should not script. But put a boring repetitve and frustrating system in and people will script it if they can.

Too bad. I have not scripted in all the time I have played Gemstone off and on with two exceptions.

Travel and Forging.

They don't want scripting then don't make boring and repetitve things for people to want to do but become bored with easily.

I am thinking that maybe the fact that artisan skills have been gaining a lot of recognition recently, especially that in which making things as a master artisan, soon, will supposedly earn EXP, is probabaly a bit more reason to start checking on folks more vehemently. Maybe...

Interesting... maybe I should log in my Bard and work the script I have. It hangs at places but gets through some stuff.

Still think they should not make something boring and repetitive. I do that enough in the real world.

Well okay maybe I do not. Many people do though.
