anyone know what disc stat or spell aim is needed to make 2 maelstroms at once, and they're focused are they not?

disc and sa are both used for fm. if you cast an unfocused maelstrom and then cast again, you'd only get 1 maelstrom because it would reinforce the first one.
to get two maelstroms they would both have to be focused on two separate critters.
Plus you can also cast FM at the same critter up to 3 times (3 or 4) with good spell aiming.
It increases the amount of damage done per round and increases the crit chances.
Still a crappy spell at higher levels.

If you want two separate maelstroms on one creature, you must wait for it to run out of the room, follow, and cast Maelstrom at it again before the first tempest catches up with the creature.
Elsewise, subsequent casts will only strengthen your existing Maelstrom. As others have said, the results garnered from that depend on the creature's level compared to yours, your Spell aiming, and stats.

so the reading that the maelstrom swirls or whatever when you recast unfocused is successful? i thought it'd show more of a description, thnx! now i know its working...
