View Full Version : Recall Election PC style

I heard it will take up to 28 days to determine whether Gray Davis will be recalled...

Down with that... I say we vote on the PC and figure it out in like 3 days.

Feel free to discuss how you feel about this, perhaps some of you even live in California and can tell us what this is like, but don't forget to vote! Heck I'm Canadian and this is far more interesting/entertaining than any other election I've seen.

Um... you forgot Gary Coleman.

'Whatchu talking about Kranar?"

I want Arnold to bring back the death penalty in Ca and then personally flip the switch, while he says

"You won't be back"
or
"You have been terminated"
or
"It's not a tumor, its 2000 volts to the head"

Seriously though, I feel its kind of sad that our politicians have become such circus acts.

In a sense though, they have been for years. But thanks for the humor.

Sure he gropes women and probably is on par with Clinton morally, but he is the terminator! Go Arnold.

If those dunderheads in Cali actually elect Arnold they deserve every boneheaded screwup he makes.

Seriously I want Arnold to win now, not because he may be a good governor, but because I want to watch Conan O'Brian every single weeknight and see those incredibly funny interviews he does.

I swear I will be the happiest guy ever if they did that.

Stupid question

If Arnold would win, could he still makes movies ?

imported_Kranar
10-07-2003, 05:41 PM
Well he could legally, but he's not going to since that would be the dumbest thing ever.

He said he's retiring from movies if he wins this race.

But rest assured! He will be seen every night on Conan O'Brian!!!

I'd vote for him

Don't forget Regan was an actor it's not like Arnold is the first to do it.

Parkbandit
10-07-2003, 05:50 PM
That should have been his platform..

"Vote for me, or I'll make T4!"

I tend to lean towards Republicans in most elections.. and I think Davis has done a horrid job so far in California.. but I only want Arnold elected for the comedic value his office will offer.

Kranar's got it right.

Vote Arnold for a better Conan O'Brien.

Stunseed
10-07-2003, 07:48 PM
I enjoy Conan's punchline.....But the gay jerking movements he does to try to get a laugh annoy me. The way he walks into the show is cool. Arnold and Bush are pretty funny. Triumph the dog is hilarious, and the masturbating bear trips me out every single time.

Tendarian
10-07-2003, 07:53 PM
People actually watch Conan on purpose?

peam
10-07-2003, 07:58 PM
Conan > Leno > Letterman.

imported_Kranar
10-07-2003, 08:15 PM
Conan = funniest skit ever. The interviews he does with Bush and Arnold, Triumph the comic insult dog, and his other random stuff is some of the funniest stuff on T.V. His monologue is inbetween his guests are the worst.

Letterman = worst monologue, worst skit, but best guests. I don't know how anyone can find what he says funny, and his skits are so boring and lame. And what's with that bald musician? He went to the same university as me, so props to that, but there's something wrong with him.

Leno = best monologue, inbetween skit, and inbetween guests. On most nights Leno is better than Conan. Although he doesn't have half as funny a skit as Conan, his monologue makes up for that and he has decent guests.

If Davis stays, California will be bankrupt in 2 years max. He's so anti business he makes Seattle look like a good alternative. (Another place driving out business in droves, I know because I'm trying to stay employed there.) you have to foster a business environment because it's your revenue base. Democrats just aren't getting it.
Arnold can't do a worse job than Davis did. I would have voted Gary Coleman if that was the only other choice (and I still lived in CA.) and hoped he had good advisers rather than leave Davis in office.

How the heck do you know that Arnold would be fiscally responsible, because he's a Republican? I don't quite understand why it is that California couldn't see that the rest of the country is doing pretty badly too, economy wise.

I agree that they get what they deserve if they elect Arnold.

I don't know that Arnold will be fiscally responsible but he's claiming he will as opposed to what Davis showed us he'd do.
Californians do see what the rest of the country is doing and see that it isn't nearly as bad most other places. Especially the states that are taking over the Silicon Valley's main claim to fame which used to be that it was a good place to start a tech business. The workers comp costs alone in California are about 3 times the average.

Just got this as an email alert:

-- CNN projects that California voters will recall Gov. Gray Davis and elect Arnold Schwarzenegger governor.
Watch CNN or log on to http://CNN.com (AOL Keyword: CNN) for the latest news.

I used to live in Cali, and I am mostly Democratic. Brown was the last good governor they had. Pete Wilson is probably why Davis has all these problems. I'd vote Arnold though, just to watch the fireworks.

my bad that is only 9% of the state reporting ..idiots dont tell us that until the end..LOL

Are you kidding me ? Please tell me you are..If not her is why .. The Reservations belong to the Indians.. it was given to them .. they are a Sovereign Nation. Isnt it bad enough that they mostly got shitty land that they couldnt even farm on .. and now.. that they finally found a way to make some money and support themselves .. This idiot thinks he has the right to TAX them ? That is wrong beyond all belief..

Davis just conceded and Arnold gave his acceptance speach, yep Arnold won.
Is this the best thing for California?
I honestly think Bustamante would have been better but, I also think Arnold can do almost as good of a job. Cali needs someone who will foster business and Davis was killing that methodically by bowing to the special interest groups that were feeding him contributions.
Screw business and you don't have a revenue flow to base all the left wing special interest "people's programs" that you need to fund. Not if you want to actually pay for them.
It's time that Cali joined the real world and paid for what they do. I'm not sure that Arnold is the best guy for that but I'm sure that he's close to it and it's what the people wanted to try and did vote for.
:spin:
California is going to go thru some severe growing pains and it will be fun/excruciating too watch. The business environment is horrible right now, how does the next guy change it?
Both sides will take any advantage they can.
This is how politics should work. Keep an open mind. Sometimes deficit spending is how you revive a business economy.

All I can say is give the guy a chance. All I have to go by is the Jesse Ventura story. The guy wasn't an idiot, and he kept all his campaign promises. The problem was, he didn't play the political game, and as a 3rd party candidate, both sides were out to get him. And the media is owned by politically affiliations, so... there you go.

Agreed, Jesse got screwed even though he was the people's choice. Was it because he didn't really represent his state or because he didn't play by the "old boy network" rules?
Our political system needs a revamp if Arnold can get elected to be in charge of the 7th biggest economy in the world! (That means that he's in charge of a state that has an economy that is bigger than all but the nations below the 8th, when it comes to GNP.) He's in control of more than major national economies!

The world needs some perspective. Should Arnold be more powerful than France? What if he controls more of the global economy now?
:D

Well, I guess we'll have to see. It's pretty stupid how politics works now adays. I am almost embarassed by our country.

It's not about who is really talking about the issues, it's about who can create the most buzz. Arnold didn't talk about issues, he walked around them the whole time he was running. It's pretty sad.

It's like when Bush was running against Gore, people would say they didn't like Gore because he was stiff, and that he was like the smart kid in school, that no one could stand. You know, I'd much rather have a smart person.

If the people from your OWN STATE vote for the other candidate.. what does that say?

I just wish he chose to run next year. :(

The Casino's shouldn't be taxed, but they do enjoy the same benefits of our military keeping this country strong, and many other benefits also. We should charge for those though.... How long do you think the reservation would remain a sovereign nation if America were overtaken by the Chinese? (no I don't think that's likely, it's an analogy)

I don't know how it will turn out with Arnold in charge of California, but time will tell...
