One of my favorite wizards would be Imraith. She's so sweet she could rot teeth.
Askip and Iluna rock too.
I think of Eider more as a loony halfling before being a wizard...

I do miss Edge, Kranar the first was good he answered alot of my questions (and still does) but he was way to high level for me to want to bother him in game.
The person that turned me on to the game was a giantman wizard and I emulated him, not in training mind you, but in alot of things IG wise. I'll have to give props to Mamuluke. Which reminds me I need to track cliff down and see how life is treating him. He decided to stay in Japan after his tour over there....

Askip - Cause he's just plain good people
Iluna - Cause she's a nice as they come
Steph - I had fun racing her in EXP and playing around with training
Arkalm - To much to list, this guys a great person
Kranar - The back in the day Kranar...He was always fun to hunt or hunt with
Brimzstone - He's a good shit as well
Victorae - Miss the olde days~~ "Poor, poor wizard he is."
Laevin - Had a decent time hunting with him for a time
Alex - Damn wizard wouldn't live without my pouch!

Hey Askip,

Tenser did all my 10x enchants.
I did quite a few of those. With the old enchanting system, the only way to enchant a 10x was to use a private workshop or discover an unused mana pool. Or so people thought. In fact, there was a very high level empath back when the level cap was 140 (but empaths were exempt from this due to healing XP) who had tripled trained in mana share for life - her mana sharing was something like 430 who helped me infuse with the old enchanting system. A 430 skill infused 430% of the mana infused, so this was a huge help.
One day I had about 10 clerics chain healing my spirit and I would send the mana to said empath and she would infuse the mana into the workshop. We cranked out a 10x enchant in something like 3 hours. Interestingly enough, enchanting was disabled game wide 2 days after we did that(and a new enchanting system was implemented within a few months).
Mostly, I enchanted my 10x by renting other wizards' private workshops. I used Ceruleans, Dartaghans, and whatever that wizards name was who own the Teras Isle workshop. I also had use of Jakarta's private workshop for a few months before being ousted. Additionally, I did get a few 10x enchanted by finding untapped mana pools. My final 10x enchant 10x was by infusing it with the team of 10 clerics, the high mana share empath, and myself.
I put more time into figuring out how to make 10x enchants in the game (by searching for untapped mana pools or haggling with old wizards over renting their workshops) than I did hunting.

No, Nighthawk was a very active player but the guy who owned the one and only (at the time) workshop on Teras didn't play all that much. He went to Simucon II and Aanalar told him he was crazy to rent his workshop for only 10 million silver a month so I pretty much lost out on his workshop after renting it for 2 months. But hey, I made out pretty good for those 2 months :)

I'm not playing, though I consider comming back occasionally. With a wife and 2 kids (ages 5 and 7) and a house to take care of, free time isn't what it used to be.
Who was the wizard that wore ridiculously heavy armor? Kodos?
I went through a period of a few months wearing torso chain with my wizard. But being I could only single train in it, I knew it wouldn't be viable and the cost was to high and cutting into my main training plan.
I must say it was a very noticeable difference though. And using rods wasn't too bad to beat the spell failure. But in the end the MA were still getting me so 1 out of 4 was still bad enough to go back to my soft armor. 3 out of 4 still sucks but thats the life of a caster...
I'm probably not the wizard you are thinking, but it certainly is possible to do.

07-30-2009, 02:48 PM
IIRC, Rtune wore full plate for a little while, back before they instituted a lot of the armor penalties. He discovered that wearing full plate had no bearing on waving wands... either for spell failure or for RT. Shortly after he got caught doing that, maneuver penalties went in for armor and made it unviable. I'm talking like 10 years ago, too.
