I am glad to see the site back up as well. It's helpful to have a place to go to pose questions about the culture..in an OOC manner.

I know several people who would like to learn more..though whose characters are likely too intimidated to approach someone in game and seek out the information there.

I wouldn't try to join, my ego's big enough without the Obsidian Tower ego-steroid shot that they seem to hand out to all members. Besides all dark elves smell like tainted mana.

Heh, I haven't been IG for over a week now. No internet access at the new house (outside of 3g). Unfortunately, Tiqal is nothing but a lot of talk and a badge until he gets his training wheels removed. I expect good things ... 6 months from now.

Been looking around for Dhe'nar stuff for a few days, the links on the new www.obsidiantower.com all 404 so I found the old Celtic site on archive.org and a few other links if anyone is looking for the (non-dhenar.com) old player viewpoints. For what it's worth I think dhenar.com is still your best bet for anchoring a character and not a semi-cartoon, halfling-eating blood drinker but it was still really interesting to find all this old stuff.

Still on the lookout for a proper dictionary, I've got one with about 20 words (it's actually a script--I forgot to stick the link in my notepad file I guess) but I know there's better floating around if anyone happens to have one to share.

The Dhe’nar

The Dhe’nar have their own crest, but they don’t seem to have a system of heraldry - or, if they do, it’s written down in runes instead of being drawn out in symbols. An enruned triangle surrounds the Dhe’nar crest instead of the bordering circle used by the other Elves, and sometimes more runes are set within the crest. The crest itself is composed of three equal-sized overlapping circles, one on top and two below. While most often shown in violet on black, the crest can be any color on any field, and stories still remember this crest as a brand upon Truefolk flesh.

There is no "proper" dictionary as the "language" was traditionally taught IC, and it was considered poor form to write it out. I would not advise trying to use it in game with anyone that knows it, because the end result usually just makes someone looking like a poser.
