View Full Version : Wavedancer to make two more runs! (OMGOMG)

Greetings.
The Wavedancer will be setting sail on Friday, January 13, 2006. Tickets for this run will go on sale shortly, in the Boxoffice. Please check the Boxoffice for details.
The 1/13/06 run will be identical to prior runs. The same quests will be run, and substantially the same merchants will attend. Tickets will be sold in Deluxe Class, Ocean View Class, and First Class. There will be no Stateroom service on this run.
Should you desire to purchase a First Class ticket, they will be given out using a raffle system in the Polling System, which will be located on the Wavedancer webpage. Please check the Website for full details, when they become available, but basically, if you desire a First Class ticket, you will be asked to register for the opportunity to purchase one. Since there are a limited number of these tickets, if more people register then we have tickets for, a random drawing will take place to fill the ticket slots. If you are selected by this drawing, your account will be charged the purchase price of the First Class ticket type. After careful consideration, and after examining the ticketing processes of the prior runs, we have decided that this is a fair way in which to distribute the First Class tickets.
Please note: The rules listed on the Website supercede this post! :) I'm just trying to give everyone a heads up and a general idea of how things should work for these runs.
The Wavedancer will also be setting sail on Friday, February 10th, 2006. Like the 1/13/2006 run, tickets for this run will go on sale shortly in the Boxoffice. Please check the Boxoffice for details. Like the 1/13/06 run, a First Class ticket registration process will also be used.
The 2/10/06 run will be a bit different then all prior runs. Tickets will be sold in Deluxe Class, Ocean View Class, and First Class. All tickets will cost just a bit more. There will be no Stateroom tickets sold. Befitting the time of year, this run will have more of a romantic feel to it, but will contain the same quests and have substantially the same merchants as on prior runs, plus a little more. Details to follow at the Boxoffice.
Please note (VERY IMPORTANT): If your account has already purchased a First Class ticket for prior runs, you will not be allowed to purchase a First Class ticket for the 1/13/06 run, or the 2/10/06 run. Additionally, you may register for only ONE First Class selection process. You cannot sign up for First Class registration for both the 1/13 and the 2/10 runs. You will have to choose which run you would like to register for a First Class ticket.
We look forward to seeing you on the Wavedancer early next year.
-Carraig.

There are some fun quests and some great things raffled off. Also there are tons of merchants so you're guaranteed at least one service even if you put the least effort into it.

Easy way to get out of doing a new event, maybe this will mean they will actually get the stuff thats calandered done ... After 2 runs already, I can't say I am excited, on the bright side, its going to save me some cash ... UNLESS ... I run one of my secondaries, o damn them ... !

Edited because I am class and half paying attention to this, and half to my instructor.

Question for you folks that have done this before.
Now I won't be able to make the scheduled departure on friday due to lack of internet in the place I live, but I may be able to sign on on Saturday (if my wife isn't too jealous after not seeing me for a year). Will I be able to get onto the ship if I'm not there on time of boarding?
Additionally, how much money should I save to bring along, I'd like to enter a bunch of the raffles, get 2 alters, and add some crit weighting or flares to a weapon if possible. (does that happen any more?)
Also, what are the prices for all the seperate tickets?

I went third class on the second cruise and had a blast.
There's cottages in most of the main towns where you can go onto the boat and leave it again. So no problem with missing the boarding time.
My advice is if you're into the quests at all, prioritze them for the weekend. The Bone Island quest can be done any time up until Sunday night. Then you can concentrate on shopping the rest of the week.
There weren't any weighting merchants, I can't remember if any flares were offered. Oh, I think they had those special mechanical flares, and adding two kinds of flares? But not regular flare adding.
How much money is hard to say. If you want to enter raffles you'll need more. I'd say you can have a good time with 200K, but more is always better.
Am I the only one who thinks it's weird people do the same event over and over? I had a blast on the Wavedancer but can't see paying to do it again for the same run cause I've already done everything.
I think third class single person tickets were around $45? Prices go up from there.

The only thing I didn't like like was going first class on the first run. No maps meant I had no idea where I was going. The people going this time around will be lucky with having maps and merchants lists already done for the most part.
I also thought I had the weekend off work but got called in anyway and just being confused in general sorta ruined it for me.
But then when I saw the later fiasco with first class tickets I'm glad I got one, even though I felt I didn't take full advantage of it.
This time around since I know the quests and stuff are going to be the same I'm considering bringing one of my lessers onboard but it's still up in the air. I'd rather see something new.
That's one rambling post. Eesh.
Fun but not sure if it's worth the cash this time around.

No one else really sees this as a bad thing? The only reason I would sign up is for a bandolier, only because my main really could use it...
The first wavedancer frustrated me so much I had dreams of being pissed off with GS, when I eventually fell asleep at 2 PM in the afternoon.
Count me in. :)

I'm glad people who got first class all the other runs won't be allow to purchase first class tickets. I tried hard to get one the last two runs, and was very unsuccessful.
But I definately plan on getting a first class this time *hums*
HouseofElves

Good luck. Nearly everyone I know is using their second accounts to get first class again.
The Ponzzz
10-11-2005, 02:40 PM
Most people who paid the first class price pay for two accounts... So this really doesn't do much. Stopping the use of the same Credit Card/payment plan should be what stops it...
i guess I am one of the only ones that have a problem with more runs of this boat.

I just do not want to see anymore posts about the lack of merchants or events or deadlines met in game because of Wavedancer burnout.

The only reason why we reference that is because when we were all bitching on the official boards about losing the Sept merchant we were told, "We are so burned out from the WD and we would just end up making two half assed ones."
Sept came and went. It was Adventure month. The bounty system was slated for Sept. We don't even hear about it anymore...

Actually, Khal and a few others posted on the officials in response to the comments about how many other things were put on the backburner due to the WD resources it took. Honestly, it's bullshit to continue to say that is the reason why the bounty system didn't come out. The same dev team doesn't even work on those things. They are totally separate. AND this next two runs of the WD are pretty much the same as the last three, with the exception of a few small shops and merchant changes to the one in February. Either way, again, the only thing that is changing is that the GM's need to run merchants during the events. NO dev teams are going to be working on the WD that should be on the other things, as they are separate groups of folks.
Amaron
10-11-2005, 03:25 PM
Yes I agree Jolena but...
It has also been posted over the past months that premium merchant interactions have been almost non-existant until the past week or two BECAUSE of GM burnout from the wavedancers.
The free event was replaced by a free ebons BECAUSE of wavedancer GM burnout.
I would have to go reread the posts but they stated that stuff was not happening because of GM burnout from the 4 WDers
The Gm burnout was used several times over the past months in response to "Why isn't this happening" post.
I love the WD and want to go again, but when stuff doesn't happen I also do not want to hear its because of GM WD burnout.

I'd really like to go, as I never have been before...
... but I'm trying to save money for London...
Maybe if I get cash for xmas, I can throw it on one of the two cruises.
Would be cool if Ent got hitched on it.

IMO if you're just going to get married, split the cost of a god wedding instead. You get guaranteed alters, and cool verbs.
Jolena
10-11-2005, 04:06 PM
You get cool verbs on the WD as well but yah..no guaranteed alters.
The Ponzzz
10-11-2005, 04:29 PM
See the problem is the Dev team doesn't post. They do not need to. So yea, the Bounty system can be hard at work right now. But the CE team who does merchants is responsible for posting this up...which we have a lack of

Ehh, I'm so horrid on alter descripts... I'd be going on the Wavedancer for the full experience of all the neat little shops as well as a possible alter, maybe a quest.
If I did a god wedding, I'd certainly be hiring a wedding planner or two for alteration ideas!

I can't tell you how many wedding alters I've written, and not just for me.. ugh.. probably close to 60.

That's why when I was on the wavedancer I always asked if I could go last because I didn't want to waste everyones time going over what I wanted with the merchant.
One of my alters I just handed to the merchant and said something like, "The girl wants me to look all nice and pretty, so make this the opposite". It's definatly the favorite thing that I had done on the boat too.
I wonder if Michiko could drag Axhinde on the one in February because it's supposed to be all romantic and whatnot?
Haha.
I'm so there.
