View Full Version : If you had to choose a totem animal...

If you had to choose a totem animal, what would it be?

I'd take the hyena, for several reasons.

You may also nominate totems for others (if they are offensive, I hunt you down and shoot you).

-M

edit: by totem animal, I mean an animal that you feel represents you: in appearance or in characteristic behavior.

So by picking Hyena does that mean you own a strap-on?

I choose dragon. Aquatic, aerial, diamond-encrusted, red or etherial. Or all of the above.

My totem wannabe would be some sort of soaring bird of prey. In reality I would probably more resemble a sleepy slug. Reality bites.

Siberian tiger.

They are strong and powerful hunters, but loving when it comes to their cubs. They are both rough and tender with their mates.

Mine is a Liger. It's like a lion and a tiger mixed... bred for its skills in magic.

That's one of the reasons I chose the hyena.

Also, hyenas play this fun game with each other in their own packs. The force of a hyena's bite is enough to snap another animal's bones, but when they're messing with each other, one hyena will grab the other's lower or upper lip and tug. The other hyena is fine with this, sort of "I know you could really hurt me, but I also know that you won't".

I'm not understanding the strapon reference, Backlash.

I'm guessing it's because the female hyenas has genitalia that's very visible and closely mimics that of the males. The clitoris is very large and able to become erect. They even have tissue that resembles a scrotum.

The More You Know.

Oh, I'm partial to wolves.

Hyena society is matriarchal. The hyena’s biggest enemy is the lion, a truly patriarchal society.

A massive clitoris that resembles male genitalia...

Information overload. I wonder what the genitalia of a slug looks like...

Dude, its true. Ravon was right, the dominant hyena leaders are females who grow faux peni to assert their leadership.

It sounds crazy, I know. But it is well documented.

I give you...

"The femaleâs masculine characteristics do offer advantages in competing for food and protecting cubs, said Drea, who is an assistant professor of biological anthropology and anatomy. However the penis-like clitoris exacts a severe penalty during a motherâs first birth, because its structure constitutes a severely constricting birth canal. Thus, cubs in a femaleâs first litter often die from suffocation while passing through the birth canal."

Ouch. Mother Nature didn't think this one through...

I disagree. Because obviously the Hyena is up on the food chain from the grazers. Not to mention the lions.

Siren, the strap-on joke was an inside joke. You are a strong woman and its clear by your choice of totems.

Nothing wrong with that. Women. Yeesh!

They would probably be at the top of the food chain if many of their cubs didn't SUFFOCATE ON THEIR MOTHERS CLITORIS.

Just messing with you BL.

White for purity.

Wolf for honour, loyalty, a deep sense of family and the protection of family, they also have a sense of community. They are also intelligent and know their limitations, though they do tend to test those limitations occasionally.

A racoon.

They're troublemakers, eat all kinds of junk, and are a bit on the goofy side. They're also nocturnal. :D I also find them to be fairly attractive animals. Not to say I find myself attractive, but I don't think I'd be able to pick a vulture like Jihna!
