After much battling on the official boards, Melissa has finally given up and allowed dark elves and sylvans to keep elven.

I think both Kasia and I would have a hissy fit if I lost elven. We're the only two in game that speak elven (the real elven) on a regular basis and if Sylvans dont' know elven.... then i'm fucked. Sideways. Three times.

I don't speak Spanish, Italian, or Japanese but I can cuss in all three languages. I know 2 Italian, 1 Japanese, and a slew of Spanish curse words. That's not speaking the language that's knowing a phrase same thing with you cursing in a mixture of whatever and whatever.

Yes but it wouldn't be a 'fluid mixture'. I'm sure you can't mix all the curse words fluidly. I can barely do it and I speak spanish.

If you're not Elven or Half-Elven you shouldn't speak Elven.

I was just testing the StormFront and noticed that it lets you choose which messaging you want for the "swear" verb. Thought some of you would like to know that. :)

Oh incidentally you can choose how to swear in the wizard too (and right now not just in IV). Type swear help and you'll get the key words.

I would find it most annoying should Dighn lose the ability to speak in elven. I have spoken to several other Dhe'nar and their language of choice is varied. I play Dighn as a scholar so he can understand and speak fluently in all the major languages.

I still believe people should be able to learn foriegn languages, and possibly a scholars tongue. Writing should also be introduced to the game as well.
