Two Letters: FU

Philly has the best pizza, best concerts, and best cheesesteaks. Die. Plus, we have WaWas.

I used to love cheesesteaks.

Then I visited a friend in Philadelphia, and had one at some place on/near South Street (I think?).

I cannot eat them anymore, because they suck here :(

Pat's is the original cheesesteak, best served with extra cheesewiz and no onions. Jim's is the best served with american cheese and fried onions. I would never suggest Geno's.

Wawa ftw.

Cheesesteaks sound horrific.

Steak + Cheese = Cheesteak, right?
If so I'm about to hang my head over the toilet bowl.

Nah nah... cheesesteak is like

Grazed or chipped steak (either chicken or beef) on a long roll (the bread makes a huge difference... it must be Amaroso) with cheese (I prefer american) and fried onions usually... with ketchup sometimes including mayo (but only on chicken). MMmm goodness.

Think very, very think sliced beef with melted cheese, mushrooms, onions, sometimes peppers, as a sandwich.

Definately would make me sick.
I have to be exorsized, flushed out via enema, jog for three days straight and have professional counselling after eating a mere burger, or a bacon sandwhich.

I spend my summers at grad school at west Chester U and live with my grandmother in Media...

I love philly.. I would be up for a get together this summer while down there....

LOL, I grew up in West Chester. Left after High School and now I want to be back there really badly. The nightlife there is alot better in college.

edit: btw, Jorddyn, the cheesesteak place you went to on south street is most likely Jim's. Voted best cheesesteaks in philly last year i think.

Geno's is just as good as Pat's, and nowadays they put more meat on the roll, at least it seems.

I used to be a huge Pat's guy but find myself going to Geno's more and more because Pat's is pissing me off.

Pat's sold out after being sponsered by pepsi and opening a store down in atlantic city. I will still never go to geno's.

Gee, what a surprise. A thread about PA turned into a discussion about cheesesteak hoagies. (I swore them off for life, and while it is sad, and I miss them, I look at my cholesterol levels and weight, and thank God).

Iy's a whole debate around philly, you either go to Geno's or Pat's. The only people who go to both are from out of the city.
