Which also brought to my attention that their economy is close to ours. 95million in game.

Says reserve is set at 1050, and it's off-hand. :gawk:

I've heard it's pretty crappy game, you have to group, and certain profs will never find a group, especially if you're American.

Well...DR and GS have had higher selling items. Still especially funny considering the source.

Not sure if people remember, But back when UO was HUGE and the ulimate shit, castles would sell for over $3,000.

I remember sitting back and seeing 25 bids on a tower for 4 grand and couldn't believe it.

And then there's that Utopia game that invented a new form of the stock market... Forget the actual name of it, but it takes alot of resources...

Yeah. I know a fellow who paid $2800 for a mirror blade in DR. Still blows my mind. They're not even really that great a weapon considering DR's breakage potentials.

The Ponzzz

Geezus... WTF is the mirror blade?

Warriorbird
10-06-2005, 12:36 AM
Mirror blades do more damage and hit more often in various categories based on your personal levels of stat and skill points. They're absolutely crazy...basically the equivalant would be steadily rising AS, dropping weight, ambush skill boosts, weapon skill boosts, and crit AND damage weighting....based on your stats and skills.

The only problem is that DR has breakage...and people can steal the items in your hands after you die fairly easily.

and people can steal the items in your hands after you die fairly easily.

So...

Step 1: Find out how to steal stuff from the corpse's hands.
Step 2: Stalk one of these mirror blade owners.
Step 3: Ebay, profit.

I pwn teh underpants gnomes.

I think it's fucking strange on how DR and GS are so different, but the same...

Warriorbird

Yeah. The most recent sales of those that I remember sold for a lot less than the $2800 dollar mark (for reasons of the downsides of the blade more than anything) but that one always stood out to me.

You know, Scott and I just got in a fight over my-playing GS too much. I should make him read this thread. :D

More items then I can couint in GS sold for more then 2800, and at least one account sold for better then 30k.

Oh, I bet. Just the biggest sale I remember witnessing.

Yea, we don't see much of the big stuff, unless we have it. I would love to know some of the things in GS that sold for over $1500 not including silver sales or the most recent vaalorn sword that Stray had his hands on...

I quit GS when I started equating what I was spending in game with real dollars.

"I could buy this 6 million silver weapon, or I could have $90."

(Yes, I know my wealth was piddly compared to most. Leave me alone)

I know the feeling Jorddyn. Lately I've been going "I'm swinging 2000 dollars here." Luckily it's not actually my weapon so I'm not tempted to liquidate. I don't really want to try to add up the RL value of what my character has because it really ruins the fun of the game in a sense, at least for me.

Earth: 2025 (http://games.swirve.com/earth/)

It's still around, but now owned by a company called Swirve. I still play every now and then, that game fucking rocks. Great office game as it takes up minimal amounts of time.

I met a guy in college sophmore year(2+ years ago) who figured out how to dupe in EQ.

Used to play myself, cant remember what it was he sold but it was an oldschool item like Rubicite BP or something. I think he sold them for 700-900 each before they caught the bug. Ended up buying himself a muscle car with the profits.

As for my own selling experiences, I sold my origional characters, the first time I quit EQ for around 150 or so. But the real kicker is the fungi tunic I sold for $200, I thought I was so cool making 200 IRL dollars off one item. But I guess thats not much when you read people selling items for 900-3,000 now.

Its so funny when you tell people who have never played an MMORPG or much of any computer games for that matter, their puny brains simply cannot comprehend why someone would buy an imaginary item in a computer game.

The 30k account? No, that was a certain famous sorcerer.

Fame isn't worth 30k.

I'm curious as to what was on the account as well. I'm trying to think of a famous sorcerer and no one comes to mind so the character couldn't be THAT famous.

I'd guess Thalior.

I think the Aanalar account sold for something around $10,000.

I have to agree though, not worth that much. Unless I had millions.. Then I could probably just give Simu some money and have one created.

It wasn't Tarakan and it was for the items more than the character. Although at one point Thalior was certainly one of the most famous people in the lands, if not the most famous, I mean by recognition, not actual fame, although I think he was tops on that for a long while as well.
