I am in CoL and was considering re-allocating my stats for more spirit (before I lost the re-alloactions), as I only have 7 spirit at the moment. Here are my stats currently and from start:

Drop Str and Con 20 each and put those points in your mental stats. Half-elf SP recovery is pretty Godawful, so I would suggest bringing that Aura up some if you like using your signs.

That's what I was concerned about. I just made it to rank 13, and the signs are taking spirit now. Didn't want to get too low on spirit because I know it affects AS (and other stuff, I am sure).

Yes, but remember that you don't have to use all your signs. Generally I use all the mana ones for AS/DS and Swords, and then add Shields or Dissipation depending on where I'm hunting.

Here are the spirit penalty zones that I'm aware of:

If you go below 75% (almost sure about the %age), you will have AS/DS penalties.

If you go to or below 50%, you will be visibly drained. This is no problem unless you are in front of non-CoL members, in which case you will be penalized and have your powers revoked for (roughly) anywhere from 10 to 30 minutes. There's also probably more of an AS/DS penalty (and more still at 25% or so), but I don't know for sure.

So I could basically use my signs that don't take spirit and be okay... which is good, because I'm not sure what my TPs will look like if I drop 20 from str and con, and don't want to mess up my skills any

Morlian (at level 12), your current skill bonuses and ranks (including all modifiers) are:

Also, something i do is spread my signs out.

Do the defense signs first....wait a moment or so and then use the offensive signs so the loss and recovery is also spaced.

It helps keep the spirit los of two points hitting all at once.

But yeah, i would push up the aura a bit anyway.

I take a bit of a different view. I started with a high strength and con for PTP. My discipline was a bit lower compared to my aura to make up that difference.

I really don't see the need for a warrior to have more than 8 Spirit Points. That gives you room enough to use two of the AS/DS/TD signs. Even with 10 spirit, you couldn't use more than that without taking a hit to your combat effectiveness.

I guess the only upside that having more than 8 would be the ability to Darkness out of a hunting area after your other signs drop, because frankly none of the other spirit signs are worth a damn to a warrior.

Depending on how your skills will progress, I might seriously reconsider lowering any of your physical skills. Personally, I'd always rather have the additional PTPs from physical stats rather than planning for all 100s at the cap.

If anything, bump your AURA up to 75, you'll have the 8 spirit you need.

I don't remember which, but at least one if not both of the signs that help with bolts and or TD also use spirit and its when you need all of them that the higher spirit and spacing the ussage really helps.

Deflection (bolts) is 3 mana, dissipation (TD) costs a spirit point.

I took a slightly different route with my stats as well...

Level 0 Stats for Cylnthia, Elf Warrior
Strength (STR): 100
Constitution (CON): 100
Dexterity (DEX): 50
Agility (AGI): 80
Discipline (DIS): 70
Aura (AUR): 70
Logic (LOG): 70
Intuition (INT): 50
Wisdom (WIS): 50
Influence (INF): 20

Level 36 stats:
Strength (STR): 100 (25)
Constitution (CON): 100 (25)
Dexterity (DEX): 73 (16)
Agility (AGL): 94 (37)
Discipline (DIS): 78 (-1)
Aura (AUR): 82 (21)
Logic (LOG): 75 (12)
Intuition (INT): 66 (8)
Wisdom (WIS): 62 (6)
Influence (INF): 51 (10)

With this setup, she had 7 spirit for her first 15 or so levels, which didn't matter too much because I only used Swords up until recently. Once she got to the point in levels where the signs started lasting enough (the past level or two, she's 36 currently), she started using Dissipation (+20 ETD for 1 spirit) along with Swords, and she's been just fine with it.

Signs she always uses on hunts: Warding, Defending, Deflection, Striking, Smiting, Swords, Dissipation....has no problem at all (except for the fact that she needed to train in Harness Power for the mana, but she needed to do that anyways at some point in time).

As for a suggestion for the stats....drop your Logic by 8 and stick those 8 points in your Aura. Other then that, I can't see to much to change that would help.

Good luck! :)

Thanks for all the replies. I think I'll drop logic a bit and put it in aura... at least enough to get to 8 spirit. I don't use my signs much now unless it's just a really tough fight. I don't imagine I'll be using them for a while while hunting, until they last (as mgoddess said) long enough to make the expenditure worthwhile. I trained HP about 3 times, just to get to 12 mana (so in case of an emergency I'd have mana).

Thanks again for the info and help.
