Just a fyi- I just got a sponsorship for poker play through a poker school. So I will probably be playing GS and poker at the same time. They always are on the lookout for up and coming poker players. They pay 80% payout off their money.. One of their administrators can be reached at pokergem123@yahoo.com

If you do end up becoming sponsored, please let them know "Supremecleric" referred you. Helps us both out. See everyone in the poker rooms or in TSC!

Since he seems to be a GS player and doesn't go on to specifically advertise any websites, I'm going to leave it up for now.

But I would suggest all of our readers/posters to be cautious when dealing with companies that are not very well known.

And of course these boards take no responsibility if you suck at poker and lose all your money.

Judging by his post saying he can't get into the game, I'd disagree with you.

I said I cant get in through play.net and thats only outside my house. I do get a referral if someone gets sponsored but its a good program if your good. I actually posted it to be nice, program is free-figured I'd share it.

It's not that they'd take money from you...it's just that they're making money off of you based on your play. If it's an affiliate deal, it doesn't matter if you win or lose.

I burned out on poker...I turned it into a 2nd job for about 7 months. I'm using my winnings to put a down payment on my first house in the next 3-5 months. :D

I was speaking more broadly of anyone advertising any kind of business where money would change hands.

I understand the affiliate deal, but still think people should use caution.

You do not lose money though, the site takes the same rake no matter what.. This particular (once you get sponsored anyway) gives you a whole lot of money per month to play and then takes 20% of the winnings. Its good for me anyway.

The idea of playing for cash online was always a little scary. The propensity to use technology to cheat the game is just too high to risk. I'd rather be sitting at the table in person if my money is going to be played.

Since you just registered today.. how long have you been trying to be nice on these boards.. 2 hours?

Boo fucking hoo.

We've seen the spam from other poker sites.. and since you choose to remain anonymous.. we can assume you are doing nothing more than continuing the same old sham. We sign up under your special code.. and you make money because you 'referred us'. I realize you want us to believe you are doing it out of the kindness of your dumb old heart.. but in reality, you are doing out of the need for greed.

Thanks.. but no thanks. If I were to refer anyone, it would be someone who I trust and KNOW.

In conclusion:

Buh bye.

Tell that to the tens of thousands now in my bank account that I earned being awake at ungodly hours while sitting in my underwear.

You also play games at about 2.5 times as fast as you would sitting at a table. Couple that with the ability to play 4-8 tables online at a time...you can see how one can see tens of thousands of more hands dealt than sitting in a smokey card room.

I still love live poker, but the internet has so many advantages over the live game.

<tens of thousands now in my bank account>

Hey, even though I have a hard time believing that, it could possibly be true (maybe) [perhaps] {no way in hell}.

No thanks, I have other things to invest my disposable income in besides online gambling. But then, I'm not relying upon gambling as a source of income to procure items of need - especially a house as someone mentioned earlier in this thread. And damn especially given the opportunity of those who can use technology to 'cheat' the system and ergo 'cheat' you out of your investment. I'd rather take my chances with a well respected brokerage house and worry about the odds of a white collar criminal targeting my funds... or an FDIC insured long term bank rate.

But hey, whatever floats your boat, lifts your dress, or whatever.

I just flashed that avatar Meos used to have.. with the naked guy sitting in front of the computer.

It made me throw up a little in my mouth.

I've got absolutely no reason to lie to people on the internet. There are so many sites out there just throwing money at you to simply play at them. It wasn't all pure winnings, alot of it also involved promotions, free money, risk free money, etc. All this free money just for signing up offset any rake they may have been collecting. No free money or incentives? Just sign up at another one of the hundreds of sites out there.

I tried to get PB in on a few things, but he was too weary. I was making on average $35 an hour playing poker, sometimes more. If I spent 30-50 hours a week doing it for 7 months...well...you do the math. It was a 2nd job for me after my 45 hour work as an insurance monkey at my uncle's company.

I also have an $800 poker table, about $500 worth of poker chips, dozens of pieces of poker paraphenalia, and won a an all expenses paid Carnival Cruise for 2 to the Caribbean earlier this year. All free.

I also made an insane amount off of online casinos and my average hourly return was higher (but obviously, downswings are worse and risk is higher than with poker). But with them, it was often a hassle getting money out of them, and they'd stall for weeks at a time asking for proof of ID, changing requirements, etc. It's very easy to turn a game (like blackjack or video poker) from having a slight house advantage to a decent player advantage when they're giving you some money to gamble with once you deposit.

I could do a screen shot of the transactions in my Neteller account if I really felt the need to prove myself to a random stranger on the internet.

Meh, completely off topic now. Anyways, not that I'm saying I trust this guy...but there's a ton of ways to make money from poker on the internet.

I'm 27 years old and live in the uber suburbia known as Northern NJ. Purchasing a house in this area at my age is a massive accomplishment.

I didn't start out playing poker with that goal in mind, but after about 4 months, I realized what I could do with the money I was pouring in. I sure as hell wasn't relying on the money as income.

Was their risk involved? Sure. But I was playing the percentages, and they were always in my favor whether I was playing 8 tables of low limit Hold 'em against a bunch of scrubs online, or playing with the house's money at Golden Palace or one of it's dozens of affiliates.

I guess that its way too easy for people to lie on the internet, especially when discussing personal finances, income, or physical appearances. Not that I really require proof of your personal fortunes or inordinate skillz as an online poker player/gambler, but the odds truth being told here regarding those two subjects are not very high.

Its cool that you've been able to amass this small fortune playing online poker, if thats the case. Luck to you, and perhaps someday we'll see you on ESPN's World Poker Tour.
