There are some pretty nice short swords out there, from what I can recall. What is it you use, Soulpieced?

Doubt I've been given anything in the past many years. So if he gave something like that away when he quit, I certainly didn't get it. I just use a sonic short sword. Sonic flares with max air lore are pretty nasty.

Flares help more than massive weighting? There is something to be said for personalizing your equipment. It's a shame they don't have the mechanics to allow you to customize your sonic gear.

I'd take the sonic over an incredibly weighted axe or falchion if that answers your question, yes.

My bardess is almost 46 ( very big deal for me to get that far) and is a polarmer.. is there a major reason you went ohe?? She was OHE until GS 4 and I moved her to poles... a sonic warlance with double flares and 25 ranks of MOC is awesome but I would love to see a maxed character do that.

I'm guessing because he can swing a short sword in 3 seconds (1 with tonis up) with max air lore. With his high AS he could probably do some decent damage with a short sword, and really all he has to do is connect and let the air flares kill for him. I imagine being maxed out in air lore gives tremendous flares. Having a shield is nice for OTF too. I'm betting he defends above 400 self cast.

Base swing with a short short is 4 seconds. Bit off on the DS portion as well. The other assumptions were spot on though Drinin.
