I am looking to pick one up and wanted suggestions. I am looking for something I can attach to my car stereo (without the use of an FM transmitter or cassette adapter, as I want CD quality sound). I was thinking of the Ipod Mini or Nano 4-6 GB or the or Iriver H10.

What do you guys think?

I'm of no help because I didn't even know you could connect an MP3 player to a car stereo. :(

I just dislike iPods and iRivers.

Lexar JumpGear. I will never use an MP3 player that does not double as a flash drive or requires software.

<3 my Lexar media JumpDrive. It's only 1GB, but it does the job and does it well.

<<It's only 1GB, but it does the job and does it well.>>

Precisely.

My first MP3 player broke hard because I dropped it like 8 times on cement (on 8 separate occasions), and they're like $40 to replace. It also came with a 128MB drive, so I've got 1GB + 1/8GB storage.

Olympus just released a 5 gig MP3 player for 130 bucks. That's about half the price of the IPOD equivalant I think it's the best bang for the buck.

He's a purist, granted a slighty retarded purist, but a purist none the less.

That being said I use my iPAQ 1940 and just have 2 SD cards with different genres of music and I switch them based on mood. And we, the collective nerds that we are, have tons of music out on our "music drive" named Lothar

Wasn't Lothar the king of Lorderon in Warcraft II?

Er.. commander of the Alliance forces, not king.

I named the drive based off of Lothar of the Hill people ala SNL skit with Mike Meyers.

I have ruled out the Nano based on flaws that Apple admits but I still am considering the Ipod Mini.

Lothar of the Hill People was also an obscure SNL skit. Mike Myers was Lothar.

I was too slow on the reference

Ipods do double as a flash drive. Again, what's wrong with required software. Itunes is an awesome music organizer.

<<Ipods do double as a flash drive.>>

It's not a 'flash drive' if it needs software. It's a 'install some software for this bullshit drive.'

<<Again, what's wrong with required software. Itunes is an awesome music organizer.>>

iTunes is fucking retarded, and required software blows because without it I can use it ANYWHERE.

<<Why?>>

Because it saves me tons of hassle/money to buy a flash drive and then buy a cheap reader for it instead of having a flash drive and an MP3 player with its own memory.
