Ahhhh So long awaited, and who else better to bring us this jubilant live-action entertainment than DreamWorks and Paramount with director Michael Bay (Armageddon and recently The Island) and Steven Spielberg as executive producer. Just along for the ride we also have Lorenzo di Bonaventura (upcoming Four Brothers), Tom DeSanto (X-Men, X2: X-Men United) and Don Murphy (The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen) serving as co-executive producers.

The big screen adaptation of Transformers will now hit screens on July 4, 2007 rather than the previously-planned November 17, 2006.Writing team Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci are responsible for the delay as they jet off to Rome to work on J.J. Abrams' Mission: Impossible 3.

Theres still quite a bit of speculation as to what generation of Transformers they are going to adapt this movie from, you can guarantee Megatron and Optimus are going to be partaking of vehicular violence.

P.S: Spielberg claims this is going to be the first of many TF movies, I wonder what hes got planned.

I used to be a HUGE fan back in the 80's. The newer version seems kinda...just not good enough.
I hope it's old school revisited :)

Aha, this is what it should look like!! (http://www.i-am-bored.com/bored_link.cfm?link_id=6550)
But to be honest its the storyline I'm more concerned about...

The first CG series, beast was actually pretty good. The last few have been too bubble gum for me.

I doubt I would actually go to a theatre to watch it, but if the general fan concensus is good ... I'll grab it on DVD.

I remember at the time thinking the transformers movie, with the guy who ate the worlds was pretty good. I always liked when they killed off some of the transformers.

Transformer death FTW.

live-action entertainment

It'll be some feat if they can pull that off.

I'm also going to be curious to see how they do this live-action. I hope they have Gilbert Gottfried be Starscream.

People also need to understand that the Transformers were gigantic. Much larger than regular people. The new animated Transformers in space is not like this at all. What is worse is that Starscream has a normal voice. This makes me ridiculously sad.
