I actually prefer baseball over football. The longer season i think is what gets me to like it more.

I see someone here shares my thinking!
I look forward to the day where I don't have to turn on the news and see Hideki Matsui highlights...
bah screw the cubs, The Sox have always been better... might i point out who took both series this year? and do you honistly think that the cubs wont blow it like they "ALWAYS" do and there is a 95 year history of that

Do i need to remind you the curse of the bambino :)
don't ya just love sox fans....
"do you honistly think that the cubs wont blow it like they "ALWAYS" do and there is a 95 year history of that"
did you watch the series the cubs were getting fucked on calls all over the place, korros got his hand ripped down by what's his face, the catch in game 5 lofton had in center feild and confusion afterward.. nothing but bad things have been happening and they're still winning...
The sox have what it takes, but they blew it big time at the end. I'm sure with a new manager they'll be back next year...
Kurt - not an anti-sox
in the same breath if we get a few a clutch hitter or 2 next year you can count on the cubs being back too... can you say A-rod in chicago?

I'm not a big baseball fan. When I do watch, it's the Cards. The wife is the Cubs fan. None the less, I lost 10 bucks on that series, and I still cheered.
The Cubs BROKE that 95-year-old tradition by winning the series, AND they clenched it away. That's something Banks and company were not able to do in San Fran.
I'm not going to jinx it. I'm putting 15 down on the Marlins... GO CUBS!
Can you believe Woods' performance?! A pitcher, with more RBIs in the first game than runs given up!

The Marlins will win, sweep style. They are too strong for a Cubs lineup with definate problems. Prior and Wood are great pitchers, and will give the Marlins problems. However, if you check the pitching rotation.....Those 2 games are matched well, and will be low scoring games, I just think the Marlins will smoke em.
Jags finally won, too. Bout damn time. Does a victory against San Deigo count? I mean, really....

And who the hell thought Carolina was going to be 5-0? So far, this season is a shocker. I knew the Rams would blow, and the Jets just let far too many good players go....to Washington. Dallas is admittedly a shock. I figured they would not have things together.
I wonder who's going to face the Marlins in the World Series?
Cubs will take the Marlins in 6. They've been whipping up on them all year.
well some things odd can happen, Mike almost managed to sing with the music this time around.... who knows mabey they might win

I have been watching Prior very much over the last 2 years and wood since he was a rookie. I see a ton of Roger Clemns in Wood. I see many similarities of Pedro in Prior. You guys can think of full of it, but you may see a dynasty with the cubs. Sammy still has a good 5 years on him. Karros, Simon, Lofton and Alou still have a couple good years on them. Ramirez, Zombrano, Choi, Gonzalez, Clemente are all good youn talent besides Wood and Prior. Not to mention Estes and Clemente are also pitching relatively descent. None of the cubs starting pitchers are over 30. Estes I believe is 29 and the rest are 25 and under. I think if the Cubs could pick up a couple of relievers and a good closer who could actually hold a game and not blow a save, they would be a much more dominating team. We shall see.

Sammy has five years of what left in him?
Corked bats?
Fradulent charities?
Bitch slaps to wifey's mouth?
If they win, he should retire immediately...

I think they are talkin gettin rid of sammy, maybe for A-rod... I'm all for that one... I don't hate sammy, he just ain't the clutch hitter we need so bad on the cubs.

Sammy is one of the top 10 best players I have watched in the last 10 years. A-Rod doesn't even compete with Sammy Sosa. Yah know there are plenty of players who have cheated throughout the game that are in the hall of fame. So don't even get me started on one little incident which was proven to only happen once.

Your poll is missing quite a few possibilties. This is a best of seven series.
Cubs Sweep (can't anymore), in 5, in 6, in 7
Marlins Sweep, in 5, in 6, in 7
ya I know, I was an idiot and was thinking it was a 5 game series.... Oh well it doesn't matter... I think we know whos's gonna win because we are gonna have prior and woods pitch 4 games in the series... GO CUBS!
i must admit im cheering for them now...after that home run by wood... i think i want them to win.

I feel bad for that poor kid who screwed up that play and caught the ball...or whatever he did.
Now that the Cubs lost, he's toast.
