Enchant message I haven't seen

Thought this was a plain 4x breastplate:

You pour your potion on the breastplate.
The liquid oozes onto your rigid leather breastplate, but then quickly beads up and evaporates. You can easily tell this will never temper!

What's that message mean? Padded, the system seeing me having a major enchant already, something else?

Check the armor for padding, or natures resistance or any of that other new temporary stuff.

If its not that, then there's something odd that has made that item non enchantable.

I get that same message when I poured potion on some padded leathers... Let me waste a pour of cheap potion on some FGB and see if I get that same message.

Actually, Khal and a few other GM released several ACTIONED items that will do that to you, so that you don't ruin the item and so that you don't waste your time trying to enchant something that plain was not designed to be enchanted.

Naturally padding and weighting MAY give you the same messaging.
