I think they are what has been traditionally referred to as Nouveau Riche or Bourgeoisie although the latter is marked by excessice materialism it refers to the middle class which most untitled people are.

No disrespect but a w----- in the states is a heck of a lot less respectable than a British one with a cool accent :shrug:
