My design professors would tear you a new one for using a drop shadow :D

I want it to be displayed in the window so it didn't work. I'm testing transparent backgrounds.

Original image with text layer taken out to discard my last name.

What exactly are you trying to accomplish here? If its just transparent backgrounds, you did a good job of isolating the images out of the original.

The three objects were layers of other images that I just added into separate layers of that one. Remove background, it becomes transparent.

This is the first time that I've successfully done it (now that I know how), though.

These were two of my favorite personal photoshops.

Note: Spell out the phone number on the car.

Speaking of Photoshop, does anyone know how I'd blur or fade out the outside of an image? Let's say I've got a picture of a car, and I want the edges of the image to kind of fade to white the further out from the car it is. I've tried using the smudge tool, but it's not looking natural.

<<Note: Spell out the phone number on the car.>>

This makes less sense to me than just looking at the number.

Ctrl + A, Select > Feather, Select > Modify > Inverse, delete.

Inversion part might not be needed, I forget.

No luck. Feather doesn't seem to be doing anything, and when I use select all, the feather option is greyed out.

Is it not possible to feather a .jpg?

Artha

Maybe instead of select all, try selecting just outside where you want the fading to stop.

Speaking of photo editing software I couldn't be any more pissed off that Microsoft Photo Editor isn't included in MS Office 2003.

Photoshop takes too much time to start up, plus it costs $$$ for a legit version (which I would need at work)

Their ghetto replacement, Microsoft Office Picture Manager is half retarded and half useless.

Now to do screenshots for help files I'm creating I use F'n MS PAINT. And I've got to:

1) Open Paint
2) Paste entire screenshot
3) Copy the section I want to the clip board
4) create a new image
5) Paste
6) Hover my mouse to the corner of the image to find the dimensions
7) Go to "Image/Attributes" and set the height and width manually to get rid of the white space.

Heard rumors that I can use an Office XP CD and just install/copy over the program itself. Very tempting.

Anyone know of a good free *stable* photo editing program that's quick and lets you crop easily?

I don't see how. There's no way to look at it and be like, "This must be stolen!!" Everything is valid.

Looking good Bob. Though I don’t fully understand some of the content your technique is developing. Keep at it.

Interesting flash in your sig too. Definitely a program that requires time to get your head around. Just to show off a bit, not only my skillz but to also show how proud I am that my company is socially involved, I present my company holiday card (http://www.dittus.com/invites/holidaycard2005/hc2005m.html). Designed and executed by yours truly.

<<Though I don’t fully understand some of the content your technique is developing.>>

As far as the pictures of Tanner, there's a site with a ton of school pictures (luckily I am in 0 of them so I have no reason not to distribute it): http://www.creativestudioinc.com/Albums.cfm?FOLDER=ALBUMS/North_Middlesex_R_H_S the password is photo1

Basically, I was in a chat room with a few of my friends in my class and we were going through some of those photos. We found the picture of Tanner at a pep rally and absolutely had to photoshop him, as well as somehow make him part of that picture of GQ. There were more done but the only really good one is
http://www.filefarmer.com/Bobmuhthol/AbbyGQ.jpg
simply because we love to make fun of Abigail.

I'm going to have to go to ASU and open up the zip file I have of all my photoshopped crap I did in school. You'd like them.
