Anyone ever tried this "meditative" sage? People say this is the most popular alternative to marijuana..but the thing is, it's nothing like it. It's the craziest drug I have ever tried, and it's totally legal. You go into this totally hallucinogenic state of mind. I swear, the second I exhaled it, I was pretty much gone, in another universe.

I'm trying it one more time, that's it.

Whoever told you that Salvia is an alternitive to weed is a moron. There is nothing even close, except you feel high after everything is done. Be careful with Salvia though, and make sure you have someone watching you when you do it. The trip from Salvia is without a doubt the strongest/fastest trip you can get.

It's crazy that you feel fine and less then a second later you are full out in a trip. That's also a problem though because a lot of people freak out because it hits them so fast. As with shrooms, have a trip sitter!

Do you mean salvia divinorum? There was some talk about that on another forum I visit, a year or so ago. Sounded pretty interesting, something I probably would've loved to try when I was younger. But yeah what Scott said - it's not something you'd just try for kicks by yourself. You should do some research on how to use it, where to get it, etc. etc. etc.

If you meant something other than salvia divinorum, erm - never mind then :)

Salvia is just the latin word for sage, and there are dozens of types of sage. I often burn wild mountain sage as a meditative incense in my office, and I've used clary sage on occasion as an antisceptic poultice. I also use "salvia officinalis" in cooking once in awhile and grow it in my garden.

yeah, sage doesnt. but eat a few tablespoons of nutmeg, and it sure as fuck will make you trip. for several days.

Smoked a few bowls of a pack of 30x (at least it was so-labeled) salvia, and was mostly unimpresed. The strongest effect it had was making me think very strange thoughts, re-examining my life from a different perspective.

It does not give euphoria or at least I don't remember experiencing any, so it's not a good alternative to marijuana, and a bad drug on its own, IMHO.

I tripped out pretty badly, but that's just me, on 21x. I could totally see the world get fucked up and crazy in a second. The world gets animated and shit. I did it at the local university here and my friend told me to get in the car but I just stood behind the car, just staring at my hands he said. Once I sat in the car, I closed my eyes and each song had it's own music video in my head.

It was a crazy experience but I won't do it again.
