I did not, sadly, come up with that on my own. It's the Keywork Logo for Coheed and Cambria's fictional universe. It represents an energy stream that keeps the 78 planets together. It's really nerdy once you explain it. But I have a serious, serious love of all things Coheed and Cambria. ...it borders on obsession.

My weekend was awesome enough to include a shooting trip. Drive in the morning, BBQ ribs for lunch, shooting all afternoon, pizza from Bruno's (best pizza ever it's in Elkhart IN and it's the shit), drive home. I was able to get my brother to go with me which made it even better. All and all a much needed day to prep me for this hell week.

Austin is a pretty city - but Houston is far from a cesspool. I'll chalk this up to you just being fucking ignorant of large cities. Visit Atlanta, Cleveland, Cincinnatti, Chicago... At least in Houston we have landscaping, trees, and some greenery - not to mention more parks than any other city in the nation (I heard our mayor spit out that factoid a while back). What really sets Houston apart are the people. Of all the places I've travelled in the US, Houston has by far the largest diversity of people who are actually nice to each other. Even with all the guns we have. ;)

Whole place still smells like sulfur. See this is where I think different definitions come into play I judge by scent not actual smog. The definition enviormentalist use for smog is nanograms of toxin per pound of air not whether the place smells terrible.

Personally, air quality doesn't always affect whether or not I like a city. As long as there's something to make up for it. When I lived in northern NJ for a couple of years, I was over in NYC every chance I could be, which amounted to weekends and holidays since I was in high school. Every time I went home to the smelly armpit of the US, I would blow my nose and clean my ears and it came out black and grey. Just disgusting. But I still love NYC.

I dont think Gan was saying air quality is spectacular, just that the city isnt a total shit hole. Im not sure about Chicago being worse, I tend to like that city but there are much much much worse places you can find yourself. Smog is kind of a relative term theres the New Jersey/Philly/LA definition of holy shit I cant breath smog and then theres the Im picking up 1 nanogram of sulfur per pound of air on my air quality machine definition of smog. I think the articles going by the latter and Gan by the former.

P.S. Holy shit about socks and sandals though, I grew up around so many 75-100% African Americans in The Bx that I was the distinguished minority when it came to wearing sandals without any socks. Damn, I just realized that too.
