Um among other things. It was a mixture of flour, lime juice mustard, oatmeal water and other assorted seasoning. We also stuffed it down his draws and threw him in the closest. What I think you mean is the pitchfork comes from another picture, and you want to lift it out and put it in another pic nice and smooth. Based on that...

The polygonal lasso tool with a 0 pixel feather will let you select the pictchfork. Zoom in real close to get it perfect. This tool is tricky though because if you click a spot you don't want, you're screwed and have to start all over. You can use the inkwell pen tool to create a path that you can adjust and will remain in the original document then make a selection from the path.

After you get your selection set, try just a copy and paste from one doc to the other. You may want to add a 1 pixel feather to the selection so it blends better in the other document, though if you are working in RGB at 72dpi, it won't make that much of a difference. The pasted image will be on a transparent layer, so if you have some odd pixels here and there, you can use the eraser too to clean it up before flattening.

Otherwise, to select a solid color, you can use the wand set to a low pixel group, or, menu Select>Color Range. You will get a dialog that will be pretty self explainitory.
