1. Souz is still sexay.

2. Daniel (not Artha) you look retarded with your boxers up that high in that model-pose-wannabe-pyramid picture. Seriously there should be skin showing where your boxers are showing.

A blanket note for all guys: If your boxers are higher than your pants by more than an inch or so, your pants are too low or your boxers are too high. There is no debating this.

Subject: Bacon grease causes problems!!

The question is: Do you use bacon grease? We were raised on bacon grease (lard) as kids and even into adulthood. I will never use it again. I hope you will throw yours away whenever you fry bacon from now on. It seems as though nothing is safe to eat anymore.

COOKING WITH BACON GREASE

I just threw out my last 2 coffee cans of bacon grease!

This is what happens when you keep cooking with bacon grease. This is a warning, send this to everyone you care about.

Don't let it happen to you!

Bacon grease will make your feet small!

Warn everyone!

Its just a bad tie moment all the way around that day eh?

Is my tie bad? I'm admittedly pretty clueless when it comes to ties. I thought it looked all right. The only rule of thumb I know (and it might not even be right) is no striped ties with striped shirts. That was a striped shirt so I just grabbed one that matched that didn't have stripes.

The Ponzzz
03-03-2007, 12:09 PM
I always follow the rule of...

"If the shirt is NOT a solid color, ALWAYS wear a solid color tie."

Gan
03-03-2007, 12:59 PM
Mixing patterns is not a good idea in general with any piece of clothing.

(as for the fellow in the back with the shiney brown shirt and the "I can hear you scream from a mile away tie"... well, he had the concept down; however, he realy needs to either ditch the 'millionaire' era shirt or buy the chrome'ish tie that goes with it (solids were what was styled with that look btw)).

Patterned shirts will call for solid ties for me. And vice versa.

Otherwise, having that hottie on your arm for the evening offset any negatives your tie had. :)

Also be mindful of how long your tie is. Having too short tie syndrome makes me start looking for pocket protectors...

;)

I wrestled at 103 then 112 in HS, so that's a clue that I'm not large. I was like 5'5" back then and am 6' now so I've obviously gained weight, but not bulk. I can't gain weight even when I try. I lift and I get cut from it, but don't put on a any real mass.

As for the handle, that's from someone else. I didn't create the Hulkein character, my friend did, I took over his account when he quit. When I registered on these forums it was to respond to a thread about Hulkein, so I just used that name.

Not to pile on here, but It looks like your pocket is hanging pretty low. I imagine you have trouble finding shirts cut to fit your body style. It could be just the angle of the picture, but if not definately consult with a tailor or alterer.

I highly endorse it as a skinny dude. It's not prohibitively expensive, but it's costly enough that you probably won't want to get all your shirts tailored. I'd recommend picking one that's good for every situation to start and work up from there.

Agreed almost every place you can buy a suit will give you free alterations. If the place you buy from doesnt, that suit is likely to cheap to be seen in public wearing.

I get my suits at Joseph A Banks and Brooks Brothers. Last set I bought from Brooks Bros. I didnt pay an alteration fee but I think it was because of how much I spent. With JosABank I"m usually charged $10 per suit (for cuffing the pants). I am not charged any alteration for the jacket modifications if needed, and I can usually buy seperates which look better than the rack suits because I'm an athletic cut (which means smaller waist than what normally comes with my jacket size).

Overall I like the patterns/style/quality of JAB over BB; however, BB does have a great selection of shirts. And I'm a snob when it comes to ties, so I cant put one store over the other since I scope out all selections of ties (Ralph Loren, TH, JAB, BB, etc.) anytime I'm in the mens department of the local anchor stores at the mall.

PS. I tie a hybrid of the Pratt knot, which is my favorite with the spread collar. (Speaking of collars, please buy a set of metal or thick thick plastic collar stays for suit collars. I really laugh at guys who dont wear stays and their collars curl up for lack of reinforcement - yes thats as bad as too short tie syndrome).

I prefer button-downs for that very reason. Plus I think it just look neater, as in, clean and tidy.

As for suits Hugo Boss fits me best. After the non-fee tailoring of course. Other suits just don’t wear me as well. There was an outlet near me but they closed up. I don’t buy suits all that often so I’ll pay extra.

You totally forgot to say, "future Bears fan". What's up with that.

Love the little smile proudly showing those bottom two teeth too. Reminds me of my nephew. I never knew two little teeth could do so much damage to food, or a finger if you aren't careful.

Considering Miss X's tendency to want to rob the cradle, her calling him a "proper little grown up" is kind of scary.

and if being exposed to something like that annoys you... seriously these boards expose people to much more annoying shit than that. I certainly have noticed you have some weird responses to screen resolution, you seem to always slam people res' if they're not 1600x1200+

Bobmuhthol
04-03-2007, 10:41 PM
Uh. You must have resized your screenshot then, because the image is 800x600...

And 1024x768 vs. 800x600 isn't an opinion, it's a matter of numbers. 0.5 MP vs. 0.8 MP = equally really terrible.

I didn't realize my original post was such a personal insult to you, but I guess my only advice if it bothers you so much is to buy a new monitor.

Bobmuhthol
04-03-2007, 10:44 PM
<<... no, you cited the resolution of the picture, which is a resized screenshot.>>

I'm just kind of surprised at this point that someone would resize a picture from 1024 w to 800 w. I never expected it, and it caught me off guard.

<<I certainly have noticed you have some weird responses to screen resolution, you seem to always slam people res' if they're not 1600x1200+>>

Anything under 1152x864 makes me sad when I see it, honestly, unless the screen is well organized. In this case, it ain't. But even I don't rock 1600x1200, I'm on a widescreen 1680x1050.

Celephais
04-03-2007, 10:49 PM
Bob, you of all people should have been able to tell it was resized from a glance... the size of the Icons, Taskbar, and Titlebar should have been dead giveaways.

And yes the resolutions are a matter of numbers, but the "equally really terrible" is not only wrong, but also an oppinion. It's also a 60% increase in pixels.

Bobmuhthol
04-03-2007, 10:54 PM
Heh, I just thought it looked retarded because that's about what it looks like when I set my 16:9 screen to a 4:3 aspect ratio.

Going from 1000 pixels to 5000 is a 400% increase but it still sucks. Small sample size logical flaw in your argument, lol! But seriously, I didn't mean to spark a brawl over this. (All resolutions under 1.0 MP are all terrible for the record, regardless of if it's 1 pixel to 999,999)

No biggie... makes sense he wouldn't post a full sized screenshot though (because it's not like it would fit in his browser)

Yeah lower resolutions make me cringe, but I usually don't fault the users, especially in Gan's case where it's hardware bound, I get more annoyed when I see things like my parents going to 800x600 because "the fonts were too small".

I'm curious as to what size you keep your browser at in that mode? I find that even with a higher resolution I still keep my browser at 1024x768, most web pages just fit better, and when I have to design web pages I find that it's best to work with that assumption. (and professionally I occasionally have to work with a 800x600 assumption... minus scrollbars, menu and plugin junk) If I ever maximize IE pages just look stupidly empty. (and I hate maximizing anything anyway)

That being said, I agree with you. I don't know how people use those smaller resolutions.

Bobmuhthol
04-03-2007, 11:04 PM
I run everything in a uniform 1680x1050 to match my default resolution. Some pages are pretty empty, sure, but it's mostly the ones that don't have conscientious coders behind them to make sure things work for everyone. The PC, for example, is really awesome at a high resolution because the posts stretch to fit the window and are subsequently much smaller relative to the window size. I like being able to fit as much as possible into my windows to maximize visibility and minimize the need to scroll. I got used to the occasional empty page, I guess; it never really bothers me. The worst are the pages defined in pixels that take up like a third of the width of the window, but I really don't visit enough pages for that to be a huge issue.

Going from 1KP to 5KP doesn't suck if you're woring with a small screen (Optimus keyboard keys are 1KP... if they were 5KP that would be a huge overall pixel density change). Given the same screen size, a 60% increase in pixels will result in the same increase in clarity despite sample size.

Butt pack in front because it is hard to sit in a vehicle while it is in back. Also easy access to what ever he is carrying.

Weapon is at the ready and helps with carrying it for long term. I think the M-4 is only ~ 7 pounds, but can seem a lot heavier after an hour or so. Think about carrying a kid for an hour straight, not easy if you can't find the right position.

Notice also the carabiner on his right shoulder. Assists with carrying the weapon. Puts the weight on his shoulders and not his arms. It is usually attached to the sling so when it is lowered, the butt stock is tucked into his shoulder and ready to fire.

Rocking the intellectual no-frame glasses.

You look stoned.

Pictures do that to me; I'm much more lively and not at all stoned in person.

Frameless glasses are awesome, though.

Bob...

I can live with the haircut... but whispy facial hair is one of the largest mistakes high school kids make. We've all done it.

OMFG look I can grow hair. Bad scene bro. try and hold off until you can fill a proper beard.

You look really old in that picture. I think it's the whiteness of your scalp blending with the short black stubble which makes it look grey. Get a tan on that dome to match the face!

Oh, and stop smiling like a perverted old man who's just finished flogging the dolphin to a copy of Boy's Life.

Oh we all was. But since the photographer is a three year-old child, he wasn't drinking, haha. He just didn't want to go to sleep and wanted to play with my camera.

For starters, that post was hardly the "adult thing"... if you had just dropped it and not continued to post, instead of being like "Watch me get the last word and also pretend like I'm being mature" then maybe...

What are you talking about??? I make him rumsicles on the daily.

and then a poorly formed joke refuting exactly what you just pretended to be... nice.

(no claims of maturity here)

I never said I was trying to be mature or not, it was just something I decided to post up. There's nothing I feel that I have to prove here, just cos the fact it's a forum. I'm sure when it comes to the real world, I'm pretty sure I do know how to act according to my environment; whether it be mature or immature. Other than that...maybe I did want the last word, and maybe that was why I posted that comment. Way to figure it out Sherlock.
