First Hugo Chavez and now this. (http://datelinehollywood.com/archives/2005/09/05/robertson-blames-hurricane-on-choice-of-ellen-deneres-to-host-emmys/)
Just so the Jews don't feel left out. They've got crazy people too! (http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-3139625,00.html)

He must have a brain tumor. That's the charitable explanation.

I've got news feeds. I do a lot of customizations. I get bored during study breaks. Some odd things turn up sometimes.

Okay... That's listed as satire on google news. Looks like he didn't actually say that.
It's a sad commentary that it's entirely believable anyway.

You sure? Well, I can only hope so. The rabbi's comments, in turn, unfortunately seem quite true.

Hollywood – Pat Robertson on Sunday said that Hurricane Katrina was God’s way of ... of Television Arts and Sciences for its selection of Ellen Degeneres to ...
I'm sure. If you search google news for {"pat robertson" ellen} you can see the above. Though like I said, how sad it's totally believable he could have said it.
Second does look legit.

I didn't catch who was speaking, but I did hear a soundbite of someone talking on the news on radio the other day claiming that Katrina was god's judgement on New Orleans because of so many gay people living there. I guess all the non-gay people and people in the surrounding states were just in the way? The weird thing is, people actually believe that crap.

LMAO.
Poor Warriorbird.. in his desperate quest to make anyone even remotely affiliated with the Republican Party look bad.. decided that Satire is a valid form of the news if it suits his purpose.

I'll note that nothing in the article itself lists it as satire. And considering the views of the man in question, it's certainly something he might be dumb enough to say seeing as how some equally religious fanatics basically said almost the exact same thing.

Way to totally miss my motivations. If I want to attack the Republican Party... it'd be in Politics, and you'd know I was.
I mainly thought of it as an amusing curiousity.
Unless you take Pat Robertson seriously... or... yourself?

Pat Robertson? Not many people take him seriously.. not even going to mention that being an athiest makes me take no religious 'leaders' seriously.
I just like how you were so quick to believe is all.. especially when it says "Satire" at the beginning.
It made me laugh at you. Alot.

Well then. You see where I'm coming from. I've put up a few things attacking the Republican Party over the last few days in links and commentary over in the Politics section (and one or two in the Katrina Fallout topic in Social) if you're feeling a masochist urge to see them look bad I'd reccommend looking there.
I've tried to keep that sort've thing out of here.
And notice the comments from other folks who would've believed it to, including Latrin. That is, if you even read it. Or maybe you were feeling just too attack dog to do that.

Ovadia Yosef is like the Jewish version of your most extreme US based christian evangalists.
Unfortunately he has the same type of following. He's homophobic, racist, and promotes violence upon anyone not in stride with his theological views.
In my opinion ... a good candidate for lethal injection.
