Does anyone own the Nano? It seems pretty slick..

I was thinking about getting a regular iPod but now I have to think about it. Any first hand experience?

If you suck @ technology the iPod will pwn you.

Wasn't this JUST released yesterday? I remember prices are roughly $199 for 2 gigs and $249 for 4 gigs...

The damn thing is the size of a credit card...

I guess it depends on what you want. Frankly for $249 I'd rather have the 20gig regular iPod. However having a really small size, color screen and album cover display are rather neat options.

Has to be joking because if you can't handle an iPod, you basically suck at life.

iPods are awesome and I can't imagine living without mine now. Seriously though.. The iPod is the easiest thing in the earth to learn and has a manual and I am not really that tech saavy.

:D

Seriously, if I had to count the number of times I have read, "hepl me my iPod isn't working/got pwn3d/pwn3d me", I would be sick.

Yep, exactly. The iPod is prone to fucking up. A Mac tech assistant friend of mine complains that he gets the odd Mac machine in every week, but is overflowing with broken or malfunctioning iPods. What do you expect from Mac?

CrystalTears
09-09-2005, 11:24 AM
Well that would be a device malfunction, not that an user doesn't know how it worked.

You sure love slamming Macs, dontcha? :P

I think I must be in a "weird" world, because, in my 17 years of computer use, I have only had a system fail/malfunction on me ONCE. This was a mac g4, that I owned since 1998. It finally died in January of 2005, and I replaced it with a Dual-Processor G5, and haven't looked back.

I sure love slamming inferior products.

They still make Mac's?

CrystalTears

You're not in a weird world. Macs tend to run much more stable than PC's. I've gone through about 4 computers in the course of 5 years, and my fiance just got a new G5 a few months ago after using his G4 for years before that.

Just curious if you've even used a Mac for any length of time.

Yes, I have. And it would seem you're either blind or incapable of reading. Mac desktops do not fail nearly as much as iPods do. Obviously I didn't word it too well in this quote: A Mac tech assistant friend of mine complains that he gets the odd Mac machine in every week, but is overflowing with broken or malfunctioning iPods. What do you expect from Mac?

I'll draw a picture next time.

What's with the angst? I asked because stating "what do you expect from Mac?" indicates that you feel that they make inferior products on the whole, and I just disagree with that.

So the iPod isn't the most stable MP3 device... lots of devices fail very quickly or run down after a certain point. I honestly don't think that one device is indicative of how Mac products generally work.

There was a video link about the shortcomings of the Mac. I can't seem to find it, however.

I am getting the nano for wifey's b-day.

What the hell do I get engraved? Ladies?

Being a man I am just going to put her name and phone number because she tends to misplace things. I thought about some lovie-dovie BS but as a guy I think that stuff should be given in cards not electronics. Suggestions?

You should include Troy's Mixtape of Love.

:nods sagely:

I'd get one for my wife but like some of you other folks she has an irrational hatred of all things Macintosh.

I've had my Dell Latitude laptop since August 2000. 500 mhz P3 w/ 512 RAM. I ROXORZ AT COMPUTORZ. Still 4 gigs of HD space left on this bad boy... (out of 11).

I wouldn't want it engraved, but then I don't know what kind of touchy-feely wife you have that would want you to for sentimental reasons. Just doesn't seem like something you would engrave. But if she's that prone to losing stuff, I don't think even engraved would stop someone from keeping a nano iPod. :D

ROFL COPTER

Though nunni or punanni would be funnier. The good earphones might work better... but ANYWAY!

This is all about that iPod Phone? Whatever. I do not own an iPod. Considering how much I love music and the digital age, one might wonder... WTF doesn't BL have one??? Well I’ll tell you searching souls.

Most people I know who have the plain old 20gb or whatever pods have many problems with them. I just refuse to lay down 3 hundred bones for something that fritzes out often.

If I were to get one it would be the U2 black and red pod.

Way back in the Napster days I bought a RIO mp3 player that never glitched. Well, until I left it laying around long enough for the double AA battery to corrode the insides... man, that sucked. Great piece of work that RIO.

Your wife is a fantastic woman and on that tangent, an Xbox 360 is still one of my #1 priorities. Steve Case makes me sad :P

Steve Case? The guy behind AOL? Dunno, AOL was pretty cool back on dial-up. He’s rich as shit now.

Maybe you meant Steve Jobs? The guy, along with Wozniak, who stole Xyrox’s desktop platform to create the Mac?

Any woman who can command-key a Mac definitely gets my attention. Like CT. I may disagree with her politically but just cause she loves Mac makes me put her on my “to bounce” list.
