Worth getting?

Not that I am getting it from there, but have the chance to get one at around £900. Just want to know from a geek (Anticor?) whether the laptop is up to much

>>Games<<

That's what I wanted to know... if you were not planning on playing games it would be overkill. That system will PWN games.

^real games.. not MUD's. hehe.

That will run pretty much any game I've ever wanted for my laptop but wouldn't work.
I'd buy it for 900 if it were offered.

I have my eye on an Area 51 now. Tired or buying middle of the road laptops when if I'd bought a decent one , I'd have saved a packed.

Site says 0 in stock.

Never had a fujitsu computer, but you can't go wrong with a Pentium M 2.0ghz (my new dell work laptop has the same processor).

£900 = $1655

17" screen? I hope you're not planning on lugging it around anywhere.

That and two 60 giggers.

I've never heard anything bad about fujitsu laptops so that's a good thing. I think for what you want to do that's going to be a good machine but it will be a bitch lugging distance.

Personally I reccommend Sony or Samsung laptops. You can't beat a Sony picture but you pay a premium for it, I think something close to the specs you listed would cost about 2700US.

If you're using it for college, do what I did with my 17" laptop and get a backpack made to fit a 17" monitor from a computer store. My backpack looks good and you'd never know there's a comp in there. Comfortable too and you barely notice the weight.

Man am I pissed off.

Laptop arrived today and looks pretty swanky.
Loaded some of the stuff onto it and noticed it was a wee bit sluggish so checked the spec and found out that they send me a:

512mb RAM instead of 1gb
1.8 processor instead of a 2.0
60g HD instead of 80g

fuckers

Isn't that against the law? If not, start burning public buildings until it is.

It is if they dont put it right.

I am so pissed off. And of course I only noticed after it was too late for it to be looked into until tomorrow :(

Hope you've got a copy of the ordered specs.

Had I read this thread in September, I would have advised you not to buy it.

I was going to post it until I read your bump and realized it was an old thread.

Why not buy it?

And yeah, I did keep the original spec, Soupie

It's not cost-efficient, IMHO. I wouldn't pay close to $1,700 for a laptop unless it was absolutely fucking pwnful, which I don't feel that one is.

I had the same thing happen a year and half ago with my current Gateway laptop. Advertised with an 80gig, came with a 60gig. Had to take them to small claims court just to get them to give me a new hard drive. I really like the laptop and it's still pretty decent a year and half later (3.2ghz P4, 512mb DDR, 17" screen) but I definately won't be shopping Gateway ever again because of my experience with them.

We tend to pay far more for things in this country than everyone else in the whole world
