I'm slipping in my duties as a card carrying member of the Crazy Cat Ladies Society ( http://www.crazycatladies.org/ ).

My own Buffy was Cat of the Day and I missed it! (Yeah, I desperately need a life!)

Luckily they have archives, so here she is!

She's adorable, I love that hazed look on her face, looks like she's been getting into the catnip

... I want a wobblecat.

Warning: Not so subtle hint coming!!!

You guys should come out and meet her some time. :saint:
Stay a few days, do some lounging, make Mike exert his barbeque talents. Could be fun!

I'm dying to take a trip out there! Believe me! We definitely have to plan something soon. I'm just afraid I'll walk out of there with a kitty cause you're worse than a shelter.

KK is my heroine. I  you.

Taking in less fortunate animals always makes my insides get all warm and fuzzy... in a completely heterosexual, non-bestial way.

Now I'm all vaklempt!!!

As far as taking in those less fortunate, I think I was the less fortunate one who was blessed by the goddess that is Buffy.

I adopted her at what was one of the lowest points of my life. Mike was already out in Ohio, starting his new job and house hunting. I was still back in N.Y., struggling to do my job while coping with the realization that I was becoming a handicapped person. I was staying later and later at work as it took longer to finish the most basic tasks, then I'd get home after dark to the realization that strangers had been trooping around in my house all day. (Selling your house is a creepy process.) So I missed Mike, I was nervous because people were coming into my house all day and I was starting to mourn the loss of the career I had loved. Plus my existing cats were upset all the time because of all the strangers coming in and out and they weren't providing me with the usual 'kitty comfort' that I needed.

Into that mess came Buffy, and suddenly everything was ok. She had lived in a shelter cage her whole life and she so badly needed affection and socialization and somebody to hold her. She became my constant companion and somehow she made it easy not only to cope, but to regain my usual laid back attitude and find my smile again. She has such a strong personality that she managed to get the rest of the cats back to their usual happy selves as they focused on her constant toy theft and forgot about the realtors and buyers.

So, it was Buffy who did me the favor.
