Well today was my first day of the physics club (go me) And basically I made myself in charge of fundraising (considering mostly everyone else in the room seemed.... socially handicapped) Anyway, we're a small group. There is only 12 of us. But we aren't exactly fundended abundantly for the type of things we'd like to do (trips etc) So... Anyone have any cool ideas that is a good way to make some money?

Car wash, bake sale, create a program for a school event and sell advertising space on the program to local businesses... just off the top of my head.

I brought up car wash and I got weird looks lolz. There is only me and one other girl in the group so I dunno how well a bake sale would fly.

K I was being serious. So um. No I'm not selling or selling anyone elses body parts, having a meth lab, or anything of the illegal sort. <3 Angela

I would go with the bake sale...or maybe selling something like key chains, or something not too exspensive but they can keep to remember how they helped out someone in some way.

Pedro Sanchez says sell boondoggle keychains.

Also can't really go wrong with a car wash.
We also did a fundraiser once where we auctioned ourselves off as "maids" and went cleaning apartments, frats and dorms.

Try getting in touch with local stores/restaurants. Maybe you could sell their products and get a share of the profit.

Down here, people do it all the time and they basically rake in the cash.

I'll let you in on a little, yet extremely successful and now no longer secret plot that is the foundation of my three-phase business plan and guaranteed to lead you into a successful financial career:

1) Steal underwear.

2) ???????

3) Profit.

You're welcome.

.

P.S. You might want to try selling baked goods, keychains and used CDs on a clothed table playing stupid teeny-bopper music as you oogle at random people with a megaphone.

Selling donuts at hospitals and other places where people can't get off premises to get their own is one way. The donut shops are often willing to cooperate with a price reduction.

Another possibility is to contact businesses in your area that might use the services of people taking this class, once these students earn their degrees. Sometimes, these businesses will contribute.

What I do for the organization I founded on campus is hit up the faculty and staff for donations ... in a matter of hours (by myself) I had near 500 dollars, and a few staff that were willing to endorse the organiztion in any way they could.

Also, if its a university campus organization, there is usually funding for fuel to go to events, though the club or individuals need to foot the bill for rooms etc. You would be surprised at the money able to be had at universities.

So network, and ask for donations.

Best of LUCK!

You should have emphasized car wash with bikinis and lots of bubbles or better yet - wet white T shirts. I bet the looks you'd get then wouldnt be wierd. Creepy maybe, but definately not wierd.

if you don't feel you have all the right people for a successful bakesale or car wash you could always do a coevent with another campus club and split the profits.

Candy Bars. Make a decent sheet describing why you are doing a fund raiser. Go to your local paper/cardboard store and buy fundraiser boxes to place money and candy in or use a strongbox. Buy the Candybars at a warehouse store like Sam's and sell for 2 bucksa pop. Drop them off at several businesses that you can trust the money there. BAM!

Then go door to door.

Also contact your local alternative newspaper in the area(the free one that is not the pennysaver). And pay for some ad space(get the school to do it) about a bake sale hosted somewhere.

Other than that, no one is gonna fund a club cuz you guys want trips to see stuff.

And selling donuts in a hospital will never fly. You need a permit for that... On top of that you can't peddle dunkin'donuts stuff either, you would havta make them or suffer sueage... there was something on the news recent about kids selling Dunkin' Donut's coffee somewhere...
