Cant believe no one even myself hasnt posted this but the greatest wide reciever of all time has decided to hang up his legendary cleats, He owns something like 30 odd NFL records. Class act from the day he entered the league, to the day he left. The G.O.A.T. will be missed.

Great career but a sad, sad ending.

Alot of the great ones end up like that, i'd rather they go out with a whimper then leave to soon.

He's 42 years old, if I heard correctly. He's had a fantastic career; so fantastic that it's impossible for him to go out with a whimper. He's given a lot to the game, and should be able to rest on his laurels. Hopefully, he can now enjoy life and do all the things he hasn't had time to do during his career. :)

I agree, sides who am I to tell someone they can't play anyone if they feel they can and someones willing to give them a shot. He just wanted to keep doing what he loved doing.

Eh, I don't see it as so bad....if he went out all injured and beat up or had to leave becuase of too many concussions that would be one thing, but he went down fighting for a spot and once it was clear he had no chance to really contribute that was it.
Heck, i'm sure a good number of recievers would love to have even half as good as his average season over all those years.

Sad ending to a fantastic career. Know when to walk away. He should've retired at least 3 years ago.

If I was him I would've stayed for another season and begged for a few more TD catches to get to 200, heh.

He whined to much but his career was outstanding.
The man who single-handedly put Mississippi Valley State Univ. football on the map. An all around exceptional athlete with a stellar career to look back on.
