Converting video to MP3

I know this question was asked before, but the search in the forum is being retarded for me. What was the prog to rip video's then convert them to MP3's?

Mp3 is audio only. Do you mean mpeg/mpg?

Yeah, a video stream can never be an MP3. I don't know what you're trying to do, but if it involves extracting audio.. the only thing I can think of is play the video and use recording software to pick up anything your sound card plays and record it to an MP3 in realtime.
