My friend Cary's mom and sister were Ocean Springs, MS right near the water and haven't been found yet. However you pray or light candles, please do. I hope they are found safe.

The original players of Volfe and Darqwolf (not sure if they've been sold or not) haven't been heard from yet either. I talked with them just before they evacuated from New Orleans, but haven't heard anything since. They were gonna come stay at my place and then decided to head east into Mississippi.

Hope they went really far east. Haven't been able to contact them via cell phone yet. Hopefully it's due to a lot of cell phone towers being out.

I'm sorry to hear that, I hope they're found and are well.

If you don't mind me asking I'm a little confused by the "haven't been found". Is it possible they retreated to safety and just haven't been able to get to a working phone and contact anyone? I'm just not sure how they organize collecting everyone, I am under the impression that in the chaos no one will be "found" until they call and tell each person looking that "I'm okay"

Yeah, at the moment we don't know where they are. They were at the house a bit before the storm, thinking it wasn't going to be bad, but they were right near the water, and well..some of the streets around were badly damaged. We're hoping they left before hand, and just haven't been able to contact, but right now it's just a waiting game..

I wish I could quit everything and go out there to help out.
But I have too much here to balance.

I think many feel the urge to get down there and help, Drayal. However, at this point it's probably not the best idea. The more people who insert themselves into the area, no matter how helpful they think they might be, the more strain on the already overburdened and faltering resources available at the disaster site. Sometimes, it's hard to realize that you really can't help in any way other than to "throw money" at the problem.

It's good to realize that money donated can do one hell of a lot of good. The people who are trapped in the devastation need to be evacuated. Evacuations cost money. The costs of shelter, food, clothing and other badly needed resources are going to mount up very quickly. If you can donate, do so. Right now, it's the best those of us who are not there can do.
