DESC: a small torn canvas painting

SHOW: The small piece of canvas has been painted with the image of a lithe, pale sylvan woman. Her hands and face are upturned toward the twinned moons of Liabo and Tilaok that hang above her in the sky. A silver-winged bird perches on each of her wrists, and both birds stare into the sylvan's face with calm black eyes. In the background, a restless wave is frozen midway through crashing across a pallid beach.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My little bard <Train 16> singing to it that has yet to get any fourth stanza:

This is a small item, under a pound. In your best estimation, it's worth about 35,000 silvers.

You sense a faint aura of magic around the torn canvas painting. From the pitch of the vibration you determine that the purpose of the painting is to cast a spell or perform some magical purpose.

This is a raisable item, which casts spells from the Elemental sphere. It has a few charges.

...AND of course, still nothing on my fourth stanza.

... I also had a friend offer to sing to the item that has an older bard, and he got the same reading that my bard did, and that the spell was "Call Wind" ...

...BUT! -->

<Train 78 Wizard>
You gesture at a small torn canvas painting.
You sense that the painting is a magic item that holds the spell "Call Wind" with a bunch of charges and it is not well suited for duplicating.

Now, according to the older bard, its not mage rechargeable. However, that is not to say that it can't be INFUSED or Recharged by a GM elementalist. It is something that the buyer could discover of their own accord I am sure.

As long as it doesn't really look like:

Then I'd say in the 2m-ish range..?

that painting rocks.

Who would pay 2m for basically a painting that casts call wind? Maybe if it was wearable, that'd be an entirely different situation.

<<Who would pay 2m for basically a painting that casts call wind? Maybe if it was wearable, that'd be an entirely different situation.>>

Because of the fact that altered items of a fluffy disposition usually go for around 1m max, that it could only mean that a unique box-found has to go for twice that price that I just made up.

Naturally.

I'd pay around 1.5 or so for it. That painting rocks and I know a certain Sylvan wizardess who would loooooove it. heh!

How many paintings you see that cast anything?
For a combat spell, something you have to put away a weapon for and take out is pretty much useless. Except for maybe, maybe dispeling clouds, and even that's stretching.

However, the painting itself is pretty nice, and that's probably what'll sell it, rather than the seemingly random spell in it.

Every item altered in this game is unique though, so it makes boxfound uniques a little less important in today's market since you have to find someone that fits the alter.

edit: but i'd definitely look into finding a more experienced bard to sing to it and see if there's anything important to those call wind charges (such as rechargeable or anything).

Hell, I will bid 2 mill now.

Put it up on the marketplace on the officials and I bet you will make a mint.

Hmmm, it's torn - should be discounted.

Who the hell doesn't have a free hand at all times?!

People who use shields make the baby V'tull cry.

Try holding something in your offhand and tell me how your DS does.

If creatures are locked DOWN, then the painting isn't needed anyway.

Correct. But I can cast that spell in the painting.

912 is a great spell for doing just that, script it stance def, get paint, rub paint, put paint in my cloak,

3 seconds in stance guard and maybe 1 second with the item in your hand.

BTW, has the spell on the item as yet been used? If it has, it more than likely cannot be infused.

??? What happened to those nice ideas of grandeur that involved 1.5 to 2 million silvers ???

NOTE: These bids are nice interests bids, but I will not be going once - twice - thrice - and sold until we reach 1 million silver.

I got my shield back, so I may not be so broke. If I raise enough scratch while on vacation, I will certainly try to pick this up.
