Has anyone seen these for sale yet or have an idea of any kind of asking price?

I want one :( They're adorable!

I've been keeping an eye out but haven't seen one up yet. The process of people getting them is slowed down because it requires a GM to hand it out.

I'm sure one crazy bastard will try to recover their whole Simucon ticket from it eventually.

WTF are you two talking about?

The Simucon Gifts are coming! The Simucon Gifts are coming!

Hot from the bird's nest, these little guys hatched and are eager for work! Yes, they really work! WHISPER to them to find out how.

To recieve your own lil bird, simply ASSIST and you will get one soon enough. Available choices are a bright red robin charm, a vividly plumed macaw charm, a bright yellow canary charm, a muddy brown finch charm, and a bright blue parakeet charm.

We hope you enjoy them, thank you for attending Simucon 2005, and we'll see you again!

NOTE: You must have been a registered Simucon attendee to get one of these gifts.

You bet your ass they will!

"Do I hear 25 million silver?"

Just another extraneous thing that will UNbalance the game and is complete bullshit. I mean come on, give em a month of free play, not an item that is going to sell for a gazzilion silver.

<<I mean come on, give em a month of free play, not an item that is going to sell for a gazzilion silver.>>

haha, then we'll hear, "IT'S UNFAIR THAT PEOPLE GO TO SIMUCON BECAUSE THEN THEY PLAY FOR FREE."

If anyone is selling I would love one too!

The item itself really isn't unbalancing from what I've seen. Its a little damn carrior pigeon that can take a while to come back to its owner and has some spiffy scripts.

Anyone on PSINet, AIM or an amunet running has a better version of the ability.

There'll probably be more of an uproar over the Simucon'ers getting a week advance on EG when it comes time. Can you imagine if the GMs manage to burn themselves out before its open to the public? Or if they release restricted goodies only to them?

this is all assuming they aren't attuned to the owners

Khaladon's already posted on the officials that they are not attuned, and I have a friend that's using someone elses currently.

Well, I'd be interested in buying one if anyone is selling.

I dont see why people bitch about this stuff. It is available to those that pay lots of money for it, one way or another. Do you expect handouts from McDonalds? No. Why expect one from Simutronics?

They are both here to make MONEY.

As the thread starter, I was simply looking to buy one should anyone sell.

Personally I dont care if someone paid an assload of money to go to Simucon and got something free. I certainly hope you aren't implying that im bitching simply because im looking to buy one.

I certainly was not. I meant to comment upon those who bemoan Simu's practice of releasing high end items to those who pay the most.

Power has its price. Deal with it.

Are people really selling these things? If so, how much?

I have heard someone taking offers that has a ranger companion that does the same thing. Said he had offers over 20 mil.

And just like Fallen has said, they are a business, not a NPO

They have given out doorprizes every year as well. I remember a free year of plat subscription was a gift... So this is just another thing making the CON more enjoyable(even though it can cost ya anywhere from 400-700 to go...)

Lets adjust those figures....100-400 dollars to go; you know, after you sell your free gift for 20 million in silver, worth around 300 dollars.

Well that's if you indeed get that much for it. Look at the Sand Elementals. The first run for the WD they went for 4-6 mil. Now you can grab one for under 1 mil. And that's it you buy silvers from the main sources that everyone knows to go to. Anyone can get a mil for $10-$12.5 asking the right person...
