It's really quite self-explainatory.
I think she'd be a great mod.
I think I should be a mod.
I think those two puppies should be moderators.

I'm getting an American Bulldog to replace my extremely unwell Black Lab when the time comes, which will unfortunately be very soon. (I have a 4 year old boy who's going to be the new dog's "master", that will need the protection, he thinks he's invulnerable and needs a dog that will help him live thru that stage...) My puppy will be way cuter than yours!
I'll post the pics of an A Bulldog with a 4 year old master, prepare to be upstaged...
:D
(editted to add: Don't mind my topic hijack, I hate it when folks do like I just did but Ben's English Bulldog pups need to be upstaged...)

Those aren't even my dogs, they are just cute.

You didn't qualify to be a MOD of an unofficial message board for an online game?
What are the qualifications?

Who the hell knows what the qualifications are. I applied after Crystaltears left. I got a reply saying I didn't get enough votes. I'm like who all is voting and where is it being held..heh.
Oh well.

I never even got a reply.
I dunno wtf happened.
I am a little disappointed, but I'm a little glad too. Them turning people down means that being buddies with certain people or vocal isn't an auto-yes. And that, I definetely approve of.

How to be a mod:
Apply.
Your application then gets voted on by current mods. If you are accepted, your application gets deleted. If not, it stays for future reference.
If yes - You're a mod.
If no - You're not.
If I was a mod, Instead of deleting posts I'd make a point system for all the bad ones. Then whoever had the most bad points I'd stab in the neck with a pen at simucon.

I'll go out on a limb and say you didn't get enough votes. Heck, you didn't even get enough votes from the guests here.. let alone the admins.

Maimara, you applied while I was not an admin, so I'm sorry you did not get a response but I was not in charge at that time.
Incase anyone is curious, the full procedure for accepting a moderator is as follows:
You fill out the application, e-mail it to me, I post it in the "Staffing Application" section of the forums, and it is voted upon.
The rules on how the voting process works is as follows:
Votes required to accept an application.
In order for a moderator application to be automatically accepted their application must have the support of 3/4th's of the staff.
In order for an application to be automatically declined it only needs the objection of 1/3rd of the staff.
If the application doesn't get 3/4th's support nor 1/3rd objection within 1 week of the application's posting, then if atleast 2/3rds of the staff has voted on the application, the application will only need twice as much support as objection. Otherwise the application is rejected.
If the application is accepted, I will contact the individual and ask them to confirm that they want to be part of the staff, at which point they are accepted. If the application is declined, I will also contact the individual and inform them of it.

I wrote the reply to you from whatever email you sent the application in. I'm 100% sure I sent it because you were the first person Caels made me write a "rejection" letter too. I can tell you word for word what it said and I didn't get a return email saying I typed something in wrong. It was not sent to your play.net email which is what you signed up with but it was sent to whatever email you sent the application to Caels with.

I still never got it. It could've gotten nabbed by my junk mail filter, I guess. If I don't check my email every day or two, it deletes everything in my junk mail folder. Oh well.

I do not think anybody hates you, Kniquee. There was a possibility of a misunderstanding that has been alleviated. I certainly bear you no ill will, and I do not believe others do, either. :)

I really like Miamara. I do.
But, for moderator, maybe she can be a little to emotional at times?
Why would you want the stress anyway?
Player's Corner has a lot of good moderators already.
Just come here to enjoy it.
That's my 5 yen...

Maimara would be a good mod, you learn to behave when you're into stressing position, or you totaly screw it all

Exactly. I would make a terrible mod for the same reason. I try to remain calm but sometimes i just have to mouth off.

Being a mod doesn't mean you can't be human any more. Emotion is something alot of people have problems turning off. Hell I flew off the handle once and I'm still mad I did because I don't tend to lose my cool on a message board. (the time I flew off the handle was at Sean for some brilliant comment he made about the military)
We, the mods, have learned to do a bit of professional detachment. When someone says something that pisses me off I'll write up a reply in word and leave it, I'll come back in 5 minutes and see if I still feel the reply is worth sending.
Bottom line Maimara has to apply and we(the mods) have to vote on the issue. We have alittle different method than a yes no poll and there are some things involved in the process that will not be public knowledge. Personally she would get my vote but we tend to see eye to eye on most things(even though she might be a bit more expressive in the presentation of the agreement)
