Now this is serious!

Ok I downloaded a batch of anime (Rurouni Kenshin) and the files are .mkv. It opened in my Media Classic Player. The problem is that it has no subtitles. I've had this happen twice before when I played files that were .mkv. I have no idea how to turn subtitles on or if I should be using another player. Anyone have any advice so I can finally see the end of this series? :(

Did you check with KC? I would think he would be the one to ask.

I've never seen a video file that had the option of using subtitles..

And that is because MKV files are containers, not video files. nvm.

MKV is used to have menus and other shit that a DVD would have. If whoever ripped it from DVD is good, then it would have subtitles, though I've never heard of a player that played MKV or seen an MKV file myself. I don't know how to do it, just that it would be possible if the subtitles were extracted.

It's also very possible that whoever did it sucks and there are no subtitles in your download, or that subtitles didn't exist in the first place.
