one of the city’s most important legends, Antoine “Fats” Domino, has not been heard from since Monday afternoon. Domino’s rollicking boogie-woogie piano and deep soul voice are not only part of the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame but responsible for dozens of hits like “Blue Monday,” “Ain’t That a Shame,” “Blueberry Hill” and “I’m Walking (Yes, Indeed, I’m Talking).”
Domino, 76, lives with his wife Rosemary and daughter in a three story pink-roofed house in New Orleans’ 9th ward, which is now underwater. On Monday afternoon, Domino told his manager, Al Embry of Nashville, that he would “ride out the storm” at home. Embry is now frantic.

Well your subject line is probably going to get you a response similar to the save the plans thread, but I guess that's par for your posts :D
That's too bad, I hope he's alright, we lost a lot of culture under that water, we don't need to add him.
that he would “ride out the storm” at home

Mr. Domino has been rescued. There is no word yet concerning his wife, Rosemary, however.
Screw that guy. There are babies dying.

I'm well aware of that, peam. However, the death of one person does not need to result in the death of another, regardless of age. I'm glad to see anyone come out of that horror alive.

A man dies.
You, taking this upon yourself, announce his pwnage on a message board.
Cool?
I'd be much more glad if the media had the decency to cover a group of individuals or family that was missing, rather than a washed up musician.

The media has been covering countless survivors of this horror. They've been helping to search for lost family members, and implementing ways to allow people to get in touch with loved ones, when possible. As I see it, the media has been trying to help in any way they can, and has been covering the losses of all people, known and unknown.
I'd be willing to say that Mr. Domino got more coverage than the Johnson, Smith, or Brown families combined will.

I hadn't seen any coverage on his recovery. I got a call from someone. That's how I knew he was found. My mother knows him.

Sometimes, someone may be a celebrity to others. That person may seem to get attention that isn't given elsewhere. While that may be true, it's often also true that that very same person is, more importantly, a beloved family member, or a friend, to others.
In this case, my mother was awfully glad to hear that Mr. Domino had been found alive, not because he was a celebrity, but because he was her friend.

Peam cries.
