Thanks man, it's pretty simple once you make a quality blank, the animated ones are a bit more troublesome. Only thing I see missing from yours is the obligitory MS Paint drawn penis to the forhead :-P

I am starting to feel pigeon-holed, in order to be market viable I know you need to cater to what's popular, but I can do so much more... starfruithats (as I've shown), applehats, bananahats, maybe even a squashat. I guess I can do things that don't involve hats... or fruit too if anyone has any suggestions. (Probably won't do it right away because I got to get a lot of work done but something for me to think about)

Tomorrow I'm going to buy a lime, cut it into a limehat and take pictures of it from every angle so I don't have to half-ass rotate it again...

Limenvy is quite a thing...

I got a few requests for the lime i'm using... first page near the bottom is a link to a psd file of the lime I cut out (basically I zoomed in real close to make it clean.. it's not perfect, but it works, the top of it is flat which sucks, but you can be creative and fill it in using the Eliptical Marquee tool and the clone/stamp tool)

It's the details that make the limehat... use your layer panel and the opacity filter to make the lime translucent, then use the eraser (switch between pencil eraser and a fuzzy brush eraser) to bring features from your source "in front" of the lime, by erasing it. That's how I did gave the dog earholes (that definatly makes that one). The grass one was a bit more complicated, but I'm keeping my technique there a secret ;-)

Celephais has a $1,200 program and a desire to procrastinate work. Thank you though, most of what I've posted is just photoshop doing it's thing. Quick and dirty. If you want to see some real skill you should check out the ocassional fark photoshop thread. The Invisible Kid, Cranberry Zero, come quite readily to mind. I'm blanking on some of the other names (there is a handful of like four or five posters that win the majority of the contests), some of the people there are amazing, that and the site has boobies links.

What I like to do to fix color imperfections is copy the image into two layers, then I make the bottom layer black and white, and the top layer's blending option set to color. Then I heavily blur the top layer. This blends the harsh color imperfections, while maintaining the detail of the image, the result, a lovely color Gothique.

I also tried to smooth out some of the image compression with selective bluring.

There are a bunch of pictures of the original limecat... search the internet and you'll find them. Most of those with the cuts are from the blank I posted, which I got off a higher res photo with the cuts.

I'm a little torn on it, and I've been too lazy to make a clean cut of the whole lime. Ideally I would "mix it up" occasionally, but I don't.
