View Full Version : Armor RT penality and Stats

How do stats factor in when determining the RT and Maneuver penalty when wearing armor that you are not fully trained for?

For example, let's say I didn't want to fully train for MBP, and just rely on my stats to counterbalance it. What would be the formula to determine how much I would have to train?

To get rid of RT hindrance with a basic unaimed swing, I have found that strength and especially dexterity have cut me slack on a few armor ranks. I have found that using the surge of strength is really useful, too, and keeps getting better, if you know the maneuver.

That's impossible. You can only work off roundtime adders with bonus(dex + agl) / 15. Every other penalty remains.

So, if I have 30 total bonus from dex+agl, I can cut -2 RT?

Also, how many armor ranks do you need to remove Maneuver hinderance for MBP? 70?

<<So, if I have 30 total bonus from dex+agl, I can cut -2 RT?>>

It rounds up so you only need 23.

<<Also, how many armor ranks do you need to remove Maneuver hinderance for MBP? 70?>>

80. 70 for RT.

Oh. I thought it was other way around.

Thanks, Bob.

EDIT: Yeah, I really like to ask questions about this, but anyway, how much does not having enough armor ranks to remove maneuver hinderance hinder your maneuvers? Is it -1 per skill point you lack?

I just kind of want to know considering I'm hunting Roa'ters.

It's just a general bad idea to hunt something as crazy as roa'ters in armour you aren't AT LEAST trained enough for the RT, much less the manuevers.

Figures.

I personally think that RT penalty is what most manuevers check for, if they do check. But, you know, some people really swear by the manuever penalty. Unless you are hunting something with no manuevers, I would at least make sure I was trained for the RT penalty.
