View Full Version : How do tips help?
Curious what Empaths make in tips on an average day.

I'm a rather lax healer, but when I'm healing in the landing (mainly the crypt, occasionally in the park) I'll make maybe 10k (coin and gems combined) for a few hours of work. Currently I'm in Ta'Ill and it's a bit rediculous how nicely people tip here. I'll make 10k in the first few tips.
That all being said, I have less then 200k in my bank account. The amunet is my enemy.

If I actually kept all the tips I got, I'd make a good 100k to 150k a day easily. People tip 3k and 4k gems at a time or toss you 5k in coins and then they fill your head with mana. I rarely keep the tips though... only when I don't notice. :saint:
I should'a been an empath.

I actually did sit and heal once or twice (usually to get that last bit of exp before training) rather then hunting.. and I made tons of money in Illistim as well.. a lot of good gems.. probably 100k an hour (if no other empaths were there).

I used to make a lot when my empath was younger, but now she will give most tips back because its not in her nature to accept them.
I know what you mean about Illistim, people will often give her 3k, a gem and fill her with mana, for me though the mana is enough. Mana is my fave tip because it my empath's stats are a bit messed up and she only gets 1 or 2 mana per train.

Haha she stinks!
Tayre gives back almost all his tips. Hence the reason I haven't had a mil in a couple years. Oh well.

I wasn't bragging, you're stupid, and it's part of Tayre's personality.
In the words of Bobmuthol, "Kill yourself, please."

You're aggresive this morning, you really want me to die because i said it was stupid (very stupid) to forfeit all the money you'll learn with the most boring profession in gemstone?
well, hope you're fine with your character's personality!

HEhehe foraging gives exp, knew it? i didn't!
4 exp to heal myself.. wow party time!
:o
I accept tips depending upon my mood and location. If I'm hunting and someone needs a quick healing, I don't accept tips. If I'm actually sitting down with the intent do work and do some healing, I accept them.
In terms of mood... sometimes I just feel silly and will mess with people rather than accept their tips. Teehee.
KIA.
ok how about i add what I think to this... Edine basicly comes just short of demanding tips.... after he raises he says.... welcome back, dont die again, repalce your deed, I accept tips...
if people dont tip him he takes his tips..... yes yes without concent... thanks are to easy to come by so people should tip.

The money depends where you are, how professional you are and being known in the area helps too.
My empath has healed mostly in Illistim but some in the Landing too. There is a LARGE difference between the average amount per tip on the dais or TSC. A familiar face will also get tipped more and prompt, polite service (with a smile!) also makes a difference.
As for empaths being boring, it depends who you are and what you like. I love playing an empath and it's often a lot less boring than playing Adhara. Empaths meet and befriend people easily, can interact with others the entire time they earn their experience. And that's just healers. I'm sure all the hunting empaths would say they have a blast too. For me, a 705'ing sorcerer safely casting from guarded is the ultimate boredom. So you see, it's all in preferences.
Ultimately, all the character combinations have the potential to be interesting entities. I say, a character is only as boring as its player.
