any advice for making a hunting empath?

forget armor since now you can't cast with higher than brig

try to be close to 1X cm, lot of blood, weapon, shield and the rest is up to you!

CM pointless, as it now only adds AS.
Triple spells alot, get that CS up there. Double spell aim, and use wands and bolts.

If you're voln I would head to the graveyard. lesser ghouls and skeletons will help you until you're ready for mummies, then greater ghouls & dirges, then wraiths, then masters, then wights, and finally the ledge

If you're not voln, or if you don't care what to hunt, I'd suggest the mine road. It's not a heavy traffic area, and you're likely to get more treasure there then from the undead in the GY. When you're old enough, Manticores and Thraks past the rockslide have decent coin/boxes.

I hunted Graveyard til I was about 10.. then went to fire guardians until I was about 18 (ignoring my Voln duties!).. Then did Arch Wights.. Then Zombies.. as far as training.. I do have CM and am training for brig, although in GS4 I don't know how viable that will be (especially after Phase 2 when we get neutered).

Um don't listen to Stay. Spell aiming for an empath? I don't think so. It's expensive to live off wands and 11 mana for our only bolt spell is too much to hunt with. Training heavily in spells is your best bet. Get your bind CS way up there, or your empath CS for 1108. Unbalance is useful too. Triple as often as you can afford it. AS boosting spells such as 215, 211, 1109, and 1130 are a must. At level 46 I have a 326 AS when fully spelled with a 4x. It's good enough to hunt glacei and the like.

I assume Stay was referring to GS4 where spell aiming will be useful (1106, other spells), since we cannot double in spell aiming in GS3.

Or I may just be giving him/her the benefit of the doubt.

In GS3 I am fully singled (fireball about 300). In GS4 (15 trainings lower) I am 1.5 trained in it and fireball about 320. I'm debating doubling.
