OMG I HATE THE WRITERS OF SMALLVILLE THEY NEED TO FREAKING CHOKE ON THEIR FOOD AND DIE DIE DIE DIE!!!!!!!

Anyone else have a reaction to tonight's premier?

StrayRogue

I'm guessing it wasn't very good. I heard he goes evil or something?

Drew2
10-01-2003, 09:47 PM
He went evil at the end of last season. This season they end the show with his dad kicking his ass and jumping out of a the 63rd or something story of a building. They're falling. It ends. OMG. FUCK THAT.

GSLeloo

OMG STFU. I loved this episode! It was great so you have no taste so there!

Drew2
10-01-2003, 09:53 PM
I loved it too. It doesn't mean I can't want to stab the writers in their eye with their pencils.

StrayRogue

Tayre just can't handle the tension.

That's putting it lightly. My TV is lucky to be in one piece still.

GSLeloo

lol. They always do that shit, though. I mean look at the season finale.. they ended it with Lex's plane flying into the ocean. They LOVE to put you in suspense.

Snapp
10-01-2003, 09:59 PM
I screamed too! I can't believe they ended it like that!

StrayRogue
10-01-2003, 09:59 PM
Cliffhangers. They are designed to make you yearn to know what happens next. Dunno where they hold their origins from, probably comics, or pulp novels, though I know old B&W serials like Flash Gordon and Super Man used to work like that. Am I not the only one who remembers the Batman series, "How will Batman escape from the phallicatron ray of doom? Find out next bat episode, next bat time" or whatever?

Khaitiff
10-01-2003, 10:11 PM
Enterprise is like a million times better than Gayville!

StrayRogue
10-01-2003, 10:14 PM
Agreed.

Good Gods we have something in common.... ::grabs a dramatic writing pen:: Can this be the beginning of the end?

Betheny

Tayre, you WOULD watch the WB.

GSLeloo
10-01-2003, 10:17 PM
Never!!! Smallville is the best! First of all it captures the all American hero and guy we should look up to... SUPERMAN (were you expecting president shit head?). And it has a really hot guy for the girls and a really pretty girl for the guys. It has action and love and family and journalism and has all the makings of like the best show ever! So ha!

StrayRogue
10-01-2003, 10:18 PM
Well, I think DS9 was better. Enterprise has too much breast in it (which is good, but detrimental to Trek as a whole).

Savanae

I don't know if anyone here watched FarScape but I had the same reaction to the show finally. I blame my husband for getting me into that stupid show.

::Mutter::

Suzanne - Still bitter.

StrayRogue
10-01-2003, 10:50 PM
I preferred Lex, much...stranger.

GSLeloo
10-01-2003, 10:50 PM
Farscape had a legitimate reason...

There was supposed to be another season! But then Sci-fi was too cheap (even though Farscape had the highest female following of any of their programs) and canceled Farscape before they could truly end it properly and left a whole season to never be made so they could make shit shows like Tremors the series and Scare factor.

GSLeloo
10-01-2003, 10:51 PM
I think all GUYS preferred Lex.. for obvious reasons.

I never got into lex, My husband was a die hard FarScape fan and drug me into it knowing how much I like those kinds of shows. There is a save farscape site where the fans are raising money to make the final season, If I can find the site I will post it if there is any intrest in it.

Anyone remember Space Above and Beyond?

Savanae

It sounds familier but at the moment I am drawing a blank.

GSLeloo
10-01-2003, 11:01 PM
Wasn't that like on Star Trek or something?

StrayRogue
10-01-2003, 11:03 PM
No, it was the series that was abandoned to make X-files. It is very old now. Typical future set sci-fi series where its basically humans (and genetically engineered people, called envetroes or "tanks") against the oppressing aliens. I'll try to find some links...

GSLeloo
10-01-2003, 11:04 PM
Hmm.. wasn't there a British show where like.. they're all on a space ship and there's a human, an android, this cat that somehow became humanish and is gay...

CT doesn't get to watch Smallville because of her stupid work schedule but likes it and wants to buy the seasons on DVD.

CT is eagerly anticipating the premiere of Battlestar Galactica on SciFi. :P

StrayRogue

Red Dwarf! Quality programming. I hear it made it quite well over there too?

Here's a few Space Above and Beyond Links I found...

star trek > all

Space: Above and Beyond was pretty good too.

Babylon 5 was tasty.

Geeks rule! Kthx.

peam

I've never been on the geeky TV show boat.

I'd like to punch people who rant and rave about Buffy in the teeth.

StrayRogue
10-01-2003, 11:21 PM
Buffy DOES suck though. I am not that kind of geek, thankyou.

Betheny

I heart sci-fi.

Shoot me, Peam.

Savanae

I like Buffy and Angel. But then again I just like fun shows sometimes.

peam

I've nothing against sci-fi, though I prefer literature to television.

People who rant and rave about the shows annoy me to death, though. It's scary, almost like they pick it up as a lifestyle. These people should be introduced to Mr. Louisville Slugger.

CrystalTears
10-01-2003, 11:53 PM
I like lots of shows, and I think they're great and will watch them when I am able. The ONLY show that I rant and rave about, and will pretty much put my life on hold on Sunday nights when it's on is Six Feet Under. That show is incredible. Good thing it's seasonal for only about 7-8 episodes.

Snapp
10-01-2003, 11:55 PM
Six Feet Under is one of the best shows ever made.. incredible acting, writing, etc.. all around great.

StrayRogue
10-01-2003, 11:56 PM
Yeah, I love it to bits as well, though I've only come into it from the second season. All my friends keep trying to get me to watch that blasted 24 as well.

Battlestar Galactica was Awesome. The Sci Fi Channel has run it before, but always when I'm working :(

I'm not talking about the old series. This is a new series which starts in December.

StrayRogue

Sorry Tayre, I think it was my mentioning of FarScape that derailed your thread.

Forgive me.

My boyfriend loves Superman. If it weren't for the fact that I'm usually the one holding the remote (he's easy-going..) we'd probably watch Smallville all the time.

But. I hate Stuporman. I really cannot stand self-righteous white bread heroes with no depth. I mean come on. I think Batman's a little bit of a moron as well... that bat costume thing just wouldn't fly with me and a cloak made of Kevlar? Oh please. I like the new silent assassin Batgirl much more than I like Superman or Batman.

All that said... I hate cliffhangers too. I feel like putting a boot through the TV.

Smallville's "superman" has depth! He's not even a super-hero (yet?) really. That's what makes it so damn good (that and looking at Tom Welling).
