Okay, some of you might remember my stressing over whether or not to go for this nursing home thing with my grandfather. Turns out the decision didn't even come to me, as his doctor told him it was necessary for at least 6 weeks to rehab his legs. He ended up having to go to his second choice, which I am feverishly working on getting him moved.

Now today I get a phone call from the nursing home because my gramps is being taken to the ER to have 3 staples put in his now cracked skull. Why you ask?
Because he had to go to the bathroom so an aid helped him up, then tried to make him walk on a walker (hes there because he cant walk!!!) He took three steps, and the aid turned his back to do something else, and my gramps fell and cracked his head open.
Do I have the right to raise holy hell over this, and what would you do in my place??

Oh fuck yes you do. My grand father was in a rest home cause he broke his hip. One of the morons there got his leg caught under the wheel chair and tore his knee up now hell prolly never walk again.
I don't know if id try and sue for a lot but id make sure he was there free of charge and get it in writing.

Ouch! I'm so sorry this happened to him. Maybe you can report it to whatever board regulates nursing homes? Also, looking online, there seem to be several lawfirms that specialize in nursing home issues. Perhaps contact one of them and see what can be done, not just to prevent this from happening to your grandpa again, but to prevent it from happening to anyone.

Oh my goodness, they were extremely negligent with your grandfather. I agree, you may want to seek legal counsel.

What a horrible thing to have to go through, for both of you.
Good luck.
