Empath's Spellcasting Questions and Tips

Ok, this thread is purely to collect information on the spells an empath uses to hunt with. Questions or information, either is good, as it will help people in general to understand more about these spells...I'll start off with a few questions...

When Channeling Boneshatter, does an empty left hand add damage? If your right hand is full, or you're in stance defensive when channeling, is there any gain over Casting it?

With Empathic Assault, what are the exact thresholds for the lores? I'd like to get a few extra CS attacks in, but don't want unnecesary ranks.

Is Empathy worth it at all, ever?

How is CS determined now? I have the old formula, but I've been told it's been changed alot.

For Empathic Link--It must be cast on 2 creatures of the same kind--does it cost mana both times? In Effect, does this spell cost twice the standard amount for it's level?

Is their RT given when healing through Troll's blood?

...That's it for now, I'm sure I'll think of more later, though....

I don't see any differance at all between bone shatter with something in your hand, channeling in defence or casting in offence and all the respective variations. Might be something mechanical Im not seeing thugh. You do, however, get a bonus for going free handed and there's a supposed bonus for channeling a spell, but im not sure what that bonus is exactly. It's not reflected in the cast.

I never trained in lores associated with Empathic assault, the lores add more cycles (The CS hit) I only get one cycle since im not trained in said lores, but I do just fine without them so I would say yes, it comes in handy.

You focus your thoughts while chanting the mystical phrase for Empathic Assault...

The empathic presence you planted within the Ithzir scout exhausts itself.

Empathic link.. yes, you have to cast it on 2 like age creatures in order for it to work, and they they have to be in the same room or no more than a few away. When we were testing GSIV, I remember casting it on Awnro and Rasz, then blasting Rasz and it totally smoked Awnro :) Fun days.

cast bone shatter on scout #1
Mana total 40 = completley not worth it and mostly useless.

As for the other stuff, I'm not very good with technical stuff. Nakiro's the one that can answer most of that. Just wanted to add my 2 cents about empathic assault.

Ohhh.... and Trolls blood is the most worthless spell ever

You concentrate while murmuring the simple, mystical chant for Troll's Blood...

You cant move.... at all. While there is no RT when something heals it takes FOREVER to cycle, so basically healing a missing arm will take you about 20 minutes, and likely still not be healed all the way, and you cant do jack shit while the spell runs...

I have an idea for trolls blood. Make it to where if, when hunting my empath, I lose a limb.... it grows into another me!

Sat in on the 'release' event last night where we all teamed up to eliminate the 'taint' that was afflicting the spell trolls blood.

Imagine a bunch of empaths sitting around a tent for any extended length of time and you'll get a picture of how it went. In the end we wound up being successful according to the Guild master while several in our crowd were busy bickering among themselves and the Illistim royal representative came in and thanked all involved and offered special thanks to those of elven blood. I was hoping one of the troll skins used in the ceremony would have come back to life or something more... violent.
