Well, turns out I will be in Boston the weekend of Aug 27th. Thats a Saturday. My afternoon and night are free so I intend to check out the International Poster Gallery (http://www.internationalposter.com/) downtown, then see the nightlife.

I know some of you PC regulars are around there. Arkans, Bob, Ilvane... I forget who else. Some people are close to Boston too, so, I propose a mini-gather as I don’t really know anyone there.

Anyone up for it?

08-14-2005, 06:18 PM
Arkans will turn you EMO backlash, dont do it.

I'm sure Bob has the 411 on the underground mall scene.

Not worried and I figure it would be good for a laugh.

I wouldn't be able to get there due to inability to drive, I'm afraid, but I'd be up for it if you decide to come to Pepperell or something.

Figures you pick the days to come here when I'll be in London. August 22-September 1st, unfortunately.

Oh, and sure Backlash, I'd probably be up for it.:)

Pepperell is right near Fort Devens, where I go to drill. I remember I was cruisin' around one time during lunch and I stumbled into the town, I was thinking to myself, "HAHAHAHAHA I SHULD GO VIST BOB", but then I went back to work.

Small to medium chance that I'll be able to make it. Count me as questionable.

Long Island Ice-T's at the Red Parrot is a must. And I'll buy the first drink of course.

Coolio. Bob, lvane, anyone else. Meet at the International Poster Gallery (http://www.internationalposter.com/contact.cfm) front doors around 3. We’ll check out some world poster art and history (Too bad Arkans, they have some great Soviet era propaganda) then head out for some live bands and drinks. Tall glass of milk for Bob.

Its very cool to have the PC as a social resource when traveling. Thanks and if anyone gets through the tri-state DC area, look me up. Renfest is coming up soon.

I asked my mom about it today and she said she might be able to drive Bob and myself, that's if Bob wants to go or not.

I really am pissed about this. I wanted to debate you back into the stoneage with some politics over a nice tall beer, Backlash.

Mom?

Yes?

Well.. me and Alex wanted to go meet someone from this message board we post on.

Message board?

Yeah.. I mean, we all have common interests like pretending we are elves, giants, and the like and go on adventures.

Riight.

Yeah, so we'd like to meet this 35 year old man that is visiting in Boston.

WTF?!?!?!?

Hope you guys have a good time though.

Oh, and it's looking more likely that I can come. I'm going canoeing this weekend, so I might not got that weekend. Bob also tried to convince me. He sent me crie.jpg. Anyone have the link to crie.jpg? I want to send it around to people at work.

I was going to U2U about this today. My financial situation is lacking, so I'm going to have to hit up an ATM on the way there. My question now is how much am I expected to spend?

Well when you put it that way how does buying everyone lunch sound? Yeah, stupid joke. I dunno, its up to you. The Gallery is free I think since its just a shop with one exhibit. We wont be in there too long so I figure lunch/dinner after that. $10 gets you a decent burger and drink in most tavern/pubs. Later will be searching for bands to see. No idea what covers are going to be like.

Its up to you really how much you want to spend and on what.

I'll just grab a $20 bill and be on my merry way, then. How exciting!

Don't let Backlash aka Trotsky twist your young mind with his socialist propaganda. Just remember Bob whenever Backlash brings up his commie crap you tell him "America love it or leave it"........lol

Everything else is still according to plan.

Bobmuhthol

I saw the same stuff I see every time I'm in Boston. Except Backlash was there. We went to the gallery, and that ended up being trés small, so we went to Faneuil Hall for some eats. Then I bid Backlash farewell as I walked off the green line and he headed toward Copley Station.

So it was just the two of you, then? It's too bad the others couldn't make it. Anyway, I hope you two had fun. :)

Heh, it was cool. Sorry the poster plaCE WAS SO SMALL. They have a great on-line gallery though.

I hit the Museum of Fine Arts before meeting up with Bob and Mangled (who wasn't so mangled) and we shot the shit, saw Boston Commons, and the Hall where Cheers is. Rode America's first subway, and all that. Very cool.

Alex had to ask me, "Was meeting Bobmuthol awesome?" I'd have to say yes. And Julie too. Good kids.

And yes folks Bob has a GF and they are so cute they way they abuse each other.

Boston has a vibe. Some people say its a liberal enclave. From what I've seen its true. But its also uppity. Not very diverse racially.

Swear on my life I saw at least 15 limos. I asked the bouncer at Hard Rock what was up? He said its like that every weekend. I tried to get into one place and they told me they dont let people with sneakers in? Fuck that.

I do like Boston though. The only other city I can compare it to is Baltimore. Boston is not as diverse, but charming in a way. And there are many hot chicks here. I think from all over because I swear I heard italian.
