Is it just me, or does the game crash more than it did in say 1997 98 or 99? Its getting slightly annoying with me, and none of the emails I have sent to feedback asking for credit have ever been replied to. BLAH!

I believe it says you're accepting the game "As is". Nice and vague.. but they tell you it.

To get to the original question, no, I don't notice it crashing more than it used to. Less, actually, in my experience.

ROFL I was in Sand Devils when it went down this time. I am SURE I will be dead, they will refuse to do anything about it etc... plus I am 5k from leveling :(

Been playing since before that... But only recently the crashes have been annoying me. Only Emailed them like twice since last month on it. Ah well still god damn annoying though that the game keeps crashing.

Compared to last year, seems pretty stable.

Yesterday's fix fixed what they broke two days eariler.

How often is the game saved? IE, if the power just cut out, will I lose ten minutes of progress? Just curious....would actually help, I died right before the crash :)

It crashes a lot less than it used to. Although during katana month last year it was crash city.

Simutronics uses Oracle for their database. If the server failed over to backup power and shut down proper, expect no timewarp.

I imagine the game is saved continually or in zones. I think i've observed timewarps having different times for different characters.

I'd expect a lot of dead people though as it seems the router and/or internet connection doesn't seem to be on that backup power.

I've seen GMs do mass raising in situations like this. If you come back in the game and find yourself dead, REPORT Dead due to power failure and sometimes they'll pop yah back up on the spot.

Simutronics does stuff in house since their main lowlevel coders are all mainframe programmers. It's an old guard method of doing things. Everything on that low of a level is known by maybe five or six people.

Battle.net, WoW and all that kind of stuff is outsourced to AT&T, Level 3, IBM and a bunch of ISPs.

The GS crowd is extremely forgiving.
