Answer: it should. Pretty much any roll you get should be performed twice, with the better roll as the one you get. Pickpocketing may or may not be included.

It's very hard to know for sure. But it probably is affected by the song.

Bob's absolutely right, it's very hard to know for sure. But then, anything is very hard to prove as absolute fact...

As for my vote, I don't think it does, though I've never even tried to pickpocket. Here's how you know if it's helping something: you get that message right after the action about having felt lucky, and things could have been much worse (pfft, please, like it gets worse than having my spine removed by a maneuver? uh-huh)

Steal repeatedly while singing the song. Never see that message? Safe to assume it ain't helping.
