This might be old news but I just found out recently that the +% to hit modifier is capped at 5%. :( This is pretty bad since combat rogues need to put talent points in Precision (+5% to hit) in order to get the dual wield spec. Add in the fact that the majority of high end rogue items have +% to hit on them and it just doens't make sense. People have been asking for an answer from Blizzard about this on the forums but there hasn't been a reply yet.

Rumour has it that the offhand weapon has a 5% chance to miss on top of normal miss chances. Hence the extra 5% from the skill can be stacked with items. 1% chance to hit on an item is pointless anyway. There are far better item abilities.

Like 1% chance to crit.

That's like 30 agility points.

I'd take 1% to crit over +5% to hit anyday.

The problem is, +% to hit is on a lot of rogue items.

Yes the offhand weapon has a capped miss rate, but even still, once you get to +5 hit %, adding to that won't do anything. It wouldn't be so bad if precision and dual wield weren't linked togather.

I might start up a druid, that is one of the classes that I haven't tried out yet. No way am I getting rid of my rogue though, he's been kicking some serious butt lately. I took a day off from work on wednesday and was fortunate enough to get an empyrean demolisher. :D

I'm interested in seeing where Bliz is going with this since they removed hunter precision as well.

Maybe they'll do that to rogues too. All classes are getting their talents revamped by rogues are far down the list. Druids and paladins are next after hunter.
