I'm being bad and looking for a way to have this game on my computer without having to track down a copy and buy it.

Anyone know a place I can d/l it from?

By putting Starcraft download into Google I found a number of sites with the game available. Since I don't download games, I wouldn't want to recommend any of them, but you might take a look to see if any are sites you've used safely before. :)

Yeah it's cheap, but it's hard for me to find a copy around here. The used ones that they sell are all scratched up and funky looking. :(

Anyways, thanks for checking it out Harmnone. I tried doing something like that and I don't know who to trust. Limewire gives waay too much trash on my comp. Eh, oh well.

I've actually had to relearn how to play (as well as I can) this game as my nephew has gotten into it and wants to play me and other people in our family.

Its painful being pummeled by a child.

Eh, i bought him the package battlechest thing and it was only like 20 dollars and at target at that.

I'm sure it can be found for less.

Warcraft III was a *VERY* average RTS. The unit limit really put a damper on battles and pretty much insured victory after the first clash. Warcraft II on the other hand...

Hero's more than made up for it. I've encountered more variant tactics in War3:RoC than any other RTS game. The variety of troops and abilities you can have has yet to be beaten.

I never liked Warcraft III but started playing Starcraft again recently. Still alot of fun there.

StarCraft is such an excellent game to play, far better than War3 in my opinion. I just hope they don't nerf it with stupid troop limits.

Eh.. I tore through that game playing as Horde. It wasn't that bad since all I had to do was bum rush Battle.net players with the tauren + bloodlusting shamans with a few trolls as back up. It was annoying as hell to micromanage though.

Heh, the way battle.net works is noobs play noobs. I doubt you'd get far with that tactic normally.

I happened to win more games than I'd lose. After winning so many games against n00bs, you got up to the higher ranking members since Battle.net matched the wins. I couldn't say I sucked at all. I wasn't disappointed at my play skill and had some real nice turn around matches.

200 units max per race. Zerg though, can go up to 600, since they can take over the home base thingies.

Yet with a 200 unit limit max you could really create epic battles along with pleanty of smaller skirmishes. Not only that, but every race could still come back after a defeat in a major battle. Not the case in War3 where one huge battle could pretty much fry you.

War3 is all about micromanagement and speed. If you like games that last forever, Starcraft and Warcraft 2 are much better.

HAHAHA nothing like watching zergling rush. But then again I always love playign Terran they have a great defensive barrier if put up right and they'll usually drain the oether people off their resources

Terrans, while the most fun race to play IMHO, are really the weakest of them all. I really wish they were better.. I love playing them... "Give me something to shoot!"

Biggest problem I find with the humans is that nothing regenerates so you have to scoot all over trying to fix things and that takes too much time from watching other things.

I stick with zerg mostly. Hydralisks, lurkers and what are those things that cast dark swarm? Well they protect from aerial attack. Handy when the little bugger brought like 16 carriers after me one time.:scared2:

Defilers.. Perhaps one of the most overpowered units the game. The "dark swarm" ability makes you immune to all ranged attacks (pretty much all Terrans have, except for firebats, which suck). Sure, youre hydralisks are useless then, but Ultralisks arn't (huge fucking.. behemoth things that just rape shit for fun) and nothing the Terrans have can really stand up to them.

Terrans main weakness? Their units really fall apart too easily and they can't replenish fast enough and not enough variety in their strategies.

PS: They jacks all the Terran dropship quotes from the movie "Aliens"... check it out. Compare that dropship girl to the Starcraft one!

Love nuking shit too. Having 3 command centers with all nukes, and firing them off all at once is awesome. I generally played as protoss. Love the zealots.

Ah, Starcraft, how I miss you. Blizzard is taking their time with making another one. I'd have to say the whole console thing is pretty lame though.

Theres no plans for it on their website. The next project is starcraft: Ghost.

3gig? My war of the worlds was 4.2gig hehe. Anyways you need to score your self a copy of Nero and/or Alcohol 120% as a good start. Then learn a bit about the different image files (ask us here) and then burn to a dvd/cd. If you don't have a dvd burner you can "mount" most games on your HD and get a no cd fix.

This is all for your right to BACKUP your own files mind you.

Wezas can also help.

Open Nero.. select burn image to disk/cd. Browse to your extracted .vob file. Select it and burn it.

I use nero for my Vobs.
